20 And they were helped against them, so that the Hagarites, and those with them, were given into their power. For they sent up prayers to God in the fight, and he gave ear to them, because they put their faith in him.

39 And the sons of Eshek his brother: Ulam his oldest son, Jeush the second, and Eliphelet the third.

40 And the sons of Ulam were men of war, bowmen, and had a great number of sons and sons’ sons, a hundred and fifty. All these were the sons of Benjamin.

1 So all Israel was listed by their families; and, truly, they are recorded in the book of the kings of Israel. And Judah was taken away as prisoners to Babylon because of their sin.
1 E todo o Israel foi contado por genealogias; eis que estão escritos no livro dos reis de Israel; e os de Judá foram transportados à Babilônia, por causa da sua transgressão.
2 Now the first to take up their heritage in their towns were: Israel, the priests, the Levites, and the Nethinim.

3 And in Jerusalem there were living some of the sons of Judah, and of Benjamin, and of Ephraim and Manasseh;

18 Up till then they had been at the king’s door to the east. They were door-keepers for the tents of the sons of Levi.

19 And Shallum, the son of Kore, the son of Ebiasaph, the son of Korah, and his brothers, of his family, the Korahites, were responsible for everything which had to be done in connection with the order of worship, keepers of the doors of the Tent; their fathers had had the care of the tents of the Lord, being keepers of the doorway.

20 In the past Phinehas, the son of Eleazar, had been ruler over them; may the Lord be with him!

21 Zechariah, the son of Meshelemiah, was keeper of the door of the Tent of meeting.

22 There were two hundred and twelve whose business it was to keep the doorway. These were listed by families in the country places where they were living, whom David and Samuel the seer put in their responsible positions.

23 So they and their sons had the care of the doors of the house of the Lord, the house of the Tent, as watchers.

24 There were keepers of the doors on the four sides, to the east, west, north, and south.

25 And their brothers, in the country places where they were living, were to come in every seven days to be with them from time to time.

26 For the four chief door-keepers, who were Levites, had a special position, looking after the rooms and the store-houses of the house of God.

27 Their sleeping-rooms were round the house of God, for they had the care of it, and were responsible for opening it morning by morning.

28 Certain of them had the care of the vessels used in worship, to keep an account of them when they came in and when they were taken out again.

29 And some of them were responsible for the holy things and for the vessels of the holy place, and the meal and the wine and the oil and the perfume and the spices.

30 And some of the sons of the priests were responsible for crushing the spices.

31 And Mattithiah, one of the Levites, the oldest son of Shallum the Korahite, was responsible for cooking the flat cakes.

32 And some of their brothers, sons of the Kohathites, were responsible for the holy bread which was put in order before the Lord, to get it ready every Sabbath.

33 And these were those who had the ordering of the music and songs, heads of families of the Levites, who were living in the rooms, and were free from other work, for their work went on day and night.

1 Chronicles 10
1 Now the Philistines were fighting against Israel; and the men of Israel went in flight before the Philistines, falling down wounded in Mount Gilboa.
1 E os filisteus pelejaram com Israel; e os homens de Israel fugiram de diante dos filisteus e caíram feridos nas montanhas de Gilboa.
2 And the Philistines went hard after Saul and his sons, and put to death Jonathan and Abinadab and Malchi-shua, the sons of Saul.
2 E os filisteus apertaram com Saul e com seus filhos e feriram os filisteus a Jônatas, e a Abinadabe, e a Malquisua, filhos de Saul.
3 And the fight was going against Saul, and the archers came across him, and he was wounded by the archers.
3 E a peleja se agravou contra Saul, e os flecheiros o acharam, e ele temeu muito aos flecheiros.
4 Then Saul said to the servant who had the care of his arms, Take your sword and put it through me, before these men without circumcision come and make sport of me. But his servant, full of fear, would not do so. Then Saul took out his sword, falling on it himself.
4 Então, disse Saul ao seu escudeiro: Arranca a tua espada e atravessa-me com ela, para que, porventura, não venham estes incircuncisos e escarneçam de mim. Porém o seu escudeiro não quis, porque temia muito; então, tomou Saul a espada e se lançou sobre ela.
5 And when his servant saw that Saul was dead, he did the same, and came to his death.
5 Vendo, pois, o seu escudeiro que Saul estava morto, também ele se lançou sobre a espada e morreu.
6 So death overtook Saul and his three sons; all his family came to an end together.
6 Assim, morreram Saul e seus três filhos; e toda a sua casa morreu juntamente.
7 And when all the men of Israel who were in the valley saw that the men of Israel had gone in flight and that Saul and his sons were dead, they went in flight away from their towns; and the Philistines came and took them for themselves.
7 E, vendo todos os homens de Israel que estavam no vale que haviam fugido e que Saul e seus filhos eram mortos, deixaram as suas cidades e fugiram; então, vieram os filisteus e habitaram nelas.
8 Now the day after, when the Philistines came to take their goods from the dead, they saw Saul and his sons dead in Mount Gilboa.
8 E sucedeu que, no dia seguinte, vindo os filisteus a despojar os mortos, acharam Saul e os seus filhos estirados nas montanhas de Gilboa.
9 And they took everything off him, and took his head and his war-dress, and sent word into the land of the Philistines round about to give the news to their gods and to the people.
9 E os despojaram, e tomaram a sua cabeça e as suas armas, e as enviaram pela terra dos filisteus em redor, para o anunciarem a seus ídolos e ao povo.
10 And they put his war-dress in the house of their gods, and put up his head in the house of Dagon.

11 And when the news came to Jabesh-gilead of what the Philistines had done to Saul,
11 Ouvindo, pois, toda a Jabes-Gileade tudo quanto os filisteus fizeram a Saul,
12 All the fighting-men came up and took away Saul’s body and the bodies of his sons, and took them to Jabesh, and put their bones to rest under the oak-tree in Jabesh, and took no food for seven days.
12 então, todos os homens belicosos se levantaram, e tomaram o corpo de Saul e os corpos de seus filhos, e os trouxeram a Jabes; e sepultaram os seus ossos debaixo de um carvalho, em Jabes, e jejuaram sete dias.
13 So death came to Saul because of the sin which he did against the Lord, that is, because of the word of the Lord which he kept not; and because he went for directions to one who had an evil spirit,
13 Assim, morreu Saul por causa da sua transgressão com que transgrediu contra o SENHOR, por causa da palavra do SENHOR, a qual não havia guardado; e também porque buscou a adivinhadora para a consultar
14 And not to the Lord: for this reason, he put him to death and gave the kingdom to David, the son of Jesse.
14 e não buscou o SENHOR, pelo que o matou e transferiu o reino a Davi, filho de Jessé.
1 Chronicles 11
1 Then all Israel came together to David at Hebron, and said, Truly, we are your bone and your flesh.
1 Então, todo o Israel se ajuntou a Davi em Hebrom, dizendo: Eis que somos teus ossos e tua carne.
2 In the past, when Saul was king, it was you who went at the head of Israel when they went out or came in; and the Lord your God said to you, You are to be the keeper of my people Israel, and their ruler.
2 E também já dantes, sendo Saul ainda rei, eras tu o que fazias sair e entrar a Israel; também o SENHOR, teu Deus, te disse: Tu apascentarás o meu povo de Israel e tu serás chefe sobre o meu povo de Israel.
3 So all the responsible men of Israel came to the king at Hebron; and David made an agreement with them in Hebron before the Lord; and they put the holy oil on David and made him king over Israel, as the Lord had said by Samuel.
3 Também vieram todos os anciãos de Israel ao rei, a Hebrom, e Davi fez com eles aliança em Hebrom, perante o SENHOR; e ungiram Davi rei sobre Israel, conforme a palavra do SENHOR pelo ministério de Samuel.
4 Then David and all Israel went to Jerusalem (which is Jebus); and the Jebusites, the people of the land, were there.
4 E partiu Davi e todo o Israel para Jerusalém, que é Jebus, porque ali estavam os jebuseus, moradores da terra.
5 And the people of Jebus said to David, You will not come in here. But still, David took the strong place of Zion, which is the town of David.
5 E disseram os moradores de Jebus a Davi: Tu não entrarás aqui. Porém Davi ganhou a fortaleza de Sião, que é a Cidade de Davi.
6 And David said, The first to overcome the Jebusites will be chief and captain. And Joab, the son of Zeruiah, went up first, and became chief.
6 Porque disse Davi: Qualquer que primeiro ferir os jebuseus será chefe e maioral. Então, Joabe, filho de Zeruia, subiu primeiro a ela, pelo que foi feito chefe.
7 And David took the strong tower for his living-place, so it was named the town of David.
7 E Davi habitou na fortaleza, pelo que se chamou a Cidade de Davi.
8 And he took in hand the building of the town all round, starting from the Millo; and Joab put the rest of the town in order.
8 E edificou a cidade ao redor, desde Milo até completar o circuito; e Joabe renovou o resto da cidade.
9 And David became greater and greater in power, because the Lord of armies was with him.
9 E ia Davi cada vez mais aumentando e crescendo, porque o SENHOR dos Exércitos era com ele.
10 Now these are the chief of David’s men of war who were his strong supporters in the kingdom, and, with all Israel, made him king, as the Lord had said about Israel.
10 E estes foram os chefes dos heróis que Davi tinha e que o apoiaram fortemente no seu reino, com todo o Israel, para o fazerem rei, conforme a palavra do SENHOR, no tocante a Israel.
11 This is the list of David’s men of war: Ishbaal, the son of a Hachmonite, the chief of the three: he put to death three hundred at one time with his spear.
11 E estes foram do número dos heróis que Davi tinha: Jasobeão, hacmonita, o principal dos capitães, o qual, brandindo a sua lança contra trezentos, de uma vez os matou.
12 And after him was Eleazar, the son of Dodo the Ahohite, who was one of the three great fighters.
12 E, depois dele, Eleazar, filho de Dodô, o aoíta; ele estava entre os três varões.
13 He was with David at Pas-dammim, where the Philistines had come together for the fight, near a bit of land full of barley; and the people went in flight before the Philistines.
13 Este esteve com Davi em Pas-Damim, quando os filisteus ali se ajuntaram à peleja, e o pedaço de campo estava cheio de cevada, e o povo fugiu de diante dos filisteus.
14 And he took up his position in the middle of the bit of land, and kept back their attack, and overcame the Philistines; and the Lord gave a great salvation.
14 E puseram-se no meio daquele pedaço, e o defenderam, e feriram os filisteus; e promoveu o SENHOR um grande livramento.
15 And three of the thirty went down to David, to the rock, into the strong place of Adullam; and the army of the Philistines had taken up their position in the valley of Rephaim.
15 E três dos trinta chefes desceram à penha, a Davi, na caverna de Adulão; e o arraial dos filisteus estava acampado no vale dos Refains.
16 At that time David had taken cover in the strong place, and an armed force of the Philistines was in Beth-lehem.

17 And David, moved by a strong desire, said, If only someone would give me a drink of the water from the water-hole of Beth-lehem by the doorway into the town!

18 So the three, forcing a way through the Philistine army, got water from the water-hole of Beth-lehem, by the doorway into the town, and took it back to David; but David would not take it, but made an offering of it, draining it out to the Lord,
18 Então, aqueles três romperam pelo arraial dos filisteus e tiraram água do poço de Belém que estava à porta; e tomaram dela e a trouxeram a Davi, porém Davi não a quis beber, mas a derramou perante o SENHOR.
19 Saying, By my God, far be it from me to do this! How may I take as drink the life-blood of these men who have put their lives in danger? so he did not take it. These things did the three great men of war.
19 E disse: Nunca meu Deus permita que faça tal! Beberia eu o sangue destes varões com as suas vidas? Pois, com perigo das suas vidas, a trouxeram. E ele não a quis beber. Isto fizeram aqueles três valentes.
20 And Abishai, the brother of Joab, was chief of the thirty, for he put to death three hundred with his spear, but he had not a name among the three.
20 E também Abisai, irmão de Joabe, foi chefe de três, o qual, brandindo a sua lança contra trezentos, os feriu; e teve nome entre os três.
21 Of the thirty, he was the noblest, and was made their captain, but he was not equal to the first three.
21 Dos três foi mais ilustre do que os outros dois, pelo que foi chefe deles; porém não chegou aos primeiros três.
22 Benaiah, the son of Jehoiada, a fighting-man of Kabzeel, had done great acts; he put to death two young lions going into their secret place; and he went down into a hole and put a lion to death in time of snow.

23 And he made an attack on an Egyptian, a very tall man about five cubits high, armed with a spear like a cloth-worker’s rod; he went down to him with a stick, and pulling his spear out of the hand of the Egyptian, put him to death with that same spear.
23 Também feriu ele a um homem egípcio, homem de grande altura, de cinco côvados; e trazia o egípcio uma lança na mão, como o eixo do tecelão; mas desceu contra ele com uma vara, e arrancou a lança da mão do egípcio, e o matou com a sua própria lança.
24 These were the acts of Benaiah, the son of Jehoiada, who had a great name among the thirty men of war.
24 Estas coisas fez Benaia, filho de Joiada, pelo que teve nome entre aqueles três varões.
25 He was honoured over the thirty, but he was not equal to the first three: and David put him over his servants.

26 And these were the great men of war: Asahel, the brother of Joab, Elhanan, the son of Dodo of Beth-lehem,

1 Now these are the men who came to David at Ziklag, while he was still shut up, because of Saul, the son of Kish; they were among the strong men, his helpers in war.

15 It was they who went over Jordan in the first month, when the river was overflowing, and put to flight all the people of the valleys, to the east and to the west.

16 And some of the children of Benjamin and Judah came to David in his strong place.

17 And David went out to them, and said to them, If you have come in peace to give me help, my heart will be united with yours; but if you have come to give me up to those who would take my life, though my hands are clean from wrongdoing, then may the God of our fathers see it and give you punishment.
17 E Davi lhes saiu ao encontro e lhes falou, dizendo: Se vós vindes a mim pacificamente e para me ajudar, o meu coração se unirá convosco; porém, se é para me entregardes aos meus inimigos, sem que haja deslealdade nas minhas mãos, o Deus de nossos pais o veja e o repreenda.
18 Then the spirit came on Amasai, who was chief of the captains, and he said, We are yours, David, we are on your side, O son of Jesse: may peace be with you and peace be with your helpers; for God is your helper. Then David took them into his army and made them captains of the band.
18 Então, entrou o Espírito em Amasai, chefe de trinta, e disse: Nós somos teus, ó Davi! E contigo estamos, ó filho de Jessé! Paz, paz seja contigo! E paz com quem te ajuda! Pois que teu Deus te ajuda. E Davi os recebeu e os fez capitães das tropas.
19 And some of the men of Manasseh came over to David, when he went with the Philistines to the war against Saul, but he gave them no help: for the lords of the Philistines, after discussion, sent him away, saying, He will go back to his master Saul, at the price of our lives.
19 Também de Manassés alguns passaram a Davi, quando veio com os filisteus para a batalha contra Saul, ainda que não ajudaram os filisteus; porque os príncipes dos filisteus, com conselho, o despediram, dizendo: À custa de nossa cabeça passará a Saul, seu senhor.
20 Then when he went back to Ziklag, there came over to him, of the men of Manasseh, Adnah and Jozabad and Jediael and Michael and Jozabad and Elihu and Zillethai, captains of thousands from the armies of Manasseh.
20 Voltando ele, pois, a Ziclague, passaram para ele, de Manassés, Adna, e Jozabade, e Jediael, e Micael, e Jozabade, e Eliú, e Ziletai, chefes de milhares dos de Manassés.
21 And they gave David help against the armed bands, for they were all great men of war, and captains in the army.

22 And from day to day more supporters came to David, till he had a great army like the army of God.
22 Porque, naquele tempo, de dia em dia, vinham a Davi para o ajudar, até que se fez um grande exército, como exército de Deus.
23 These are the numbers of the chiefs of the armed men, ready for war, who came to David at Hebron, to give the kingdom of Saul into his hands, as the Lord had said.
23 Ora, este é o número dos chefes armados para a peleja, que vieram a Davi em Hebrom, para transferir a ele o reino de Saul, conforme a palavra do SENHOR:
24 There were six thousand, eight hundred spearmen of the children of Judah, armed for war;
24 dos filhos de Judá, que traziam rodela e lança, seis mil e oitocentos, armados para a peleja;
25 Seven thousand, one hundred of the children of Simeon, great men of war;
25 dos filhos de Simeão, varões valentes para pelejar, sete mil e cem;
26 Of the children of Levi, four thousand, six hundred.

27 And Jehoiada, chief of the family of Aaron, and with him three thousand, seven hundred men;

28 And Zadok, a young man, great and strong in war, with twenty-two captains from his father’s people.

29 And of the children of Benjamin, the brothers of Saul, three thousand; for up to that time the greater part of them had been true to Saul.

30 And of the children of Ephraim, twenty thousand, eight hundred great men of war, men of great name in their families.

31 And from the half-tribe of Manasseh, eighteen thousand, listed by name, came to make David king.

32 And of the children of Issachar, there were two hundred chiefs, men who had expert knowledge of the times and what it was best for Israel to do, and all their brothers were under their orders.

34 And of Naphtali, a thousand captains with thirty-seven thousand spearmen.

38 All these men of war, expert in ordering the fight, came to Hebron with the full purpose of making David king over all Israel; and all the rest of Israel were united in their desire to make David king.

39 For three days they were there with David, feasting at his table, for their brothers had made ready food for them.

40 And those who were near, as far as Issachar and Zebulun and Naphtali, came with food on asses and camels and mules and oxen, with meal for food and cakes of figs and masses of grapes, and wine and oil and oxen and sheep in great numbers, for there was joy in Israel.
40 E também seus vizinhos de mais perto, até Issacar, e Zebulom, e Naftali, trouxeram pão sobre jumentos, e sobre camelos, e sobre mulos, e sobre bois, provisões de farinha, pastas de figos, e cachos de passas, e vinho, e azeite, e bois, e gado miúdo em abundância; porque havia alegria em Israel.
1 Chronicles 13
1 Then David had discussions with the captains of thousands and the captains of hundreds and with every chief.
1 E teve Davi conselho com os capitães dos milhares, e dos centos, e com todos os príncipes;
2 And David said to all the men of Israel who had come together there, If it seems good to you and if it is the purpose of the Lord our God, let us send to all the rest of our brothers, everywhere in the land of Israel, and to the priests and the Levites in their towns and the country round them, and get them to come together here to us;
2 e disse Davi a toda a congregação de Israel: Se bem vos parece e se vem isso do SENHOR, nosso Deus, enviemos depressa mensageiros a todos os nossos outros irmãos em todas as terras de Israel, e aos sacerdotes, e aos levitas com eles nas cidades e nos seus arrabaldes, para que se ajuntem conosco;
3 And let us get back for ourselves the ark of our God: for in the days of Saul we did not go to it for directions.
3 e tornemos a trazer para nós a arca do nosso Deus; porque não a buscamos nos dias de Saul.
4 And all the people said they would do so, for it seemed right to them.
4 Então, disse toda a congregação que assim se fizesse; porque esse negócio pareceu reto aos olhos de todo o povo.
5 So David sent for all Israel to come together, from Shihor, the river of Egypt, as far as the way into Hamath, to get the ark of God from Kiriath-jearim.
5 Ajuntou, pois, Davi a todo o Israel desde Sior do Egito até chegar a Hamate, para trazer a arca de Deus de Quiriate-Jearim.
6 And David went up, with all Israel, to Baalah, that is, to Kiriath-jearim in Judah, to get up from there the ark of God, over which the holy Name is named, the name of the Lord whose place is between the winged ones.
6 E, então, Davi, com todo o Israel, subiu a Baalá e dali a Quiriate-Jearim, que está em Judá, para fazer subir dali a arca de Deus, o SENHOR que habita entre os querubins, sobre a qual é invocado o seu nome.
7 And they put the ark of God on a new cart, and took it out of the house of Abinadab; and Uzza and Ahio were the drivers of the cart.
7 E levaram a arca de Deus sobre um carro novo, da casa de Abinadabe; e Uzá e Aiô guiavam o carro.
8 Then David and all Israel made melody before God with all their strength, with songs and corded instruments of music, and with brass instruments and horns.
8 Davi e todo o Israel alegravam-se perante Deus, com toda a sua força; em cânticos, com harpas, e com alaúdes, e com tamboris, e com címbalos, e com trombetas.
9 And when they came to the grain-floor of Chidon, Uzza put out his hand to keep the ark in its place, for the oxen were slipping.
9 E, chegando à eira de Quidom, estendeu Uzá a mão, para segurar a arca, porque os bois tropeçavam.
10 And the wrath of the Lord, burning against Uzza, sent destruction on him because he had put his hand on the ark, and death came to him there before God.
10 Então, se acendeu a ira do SENHOR contra Uzá e o feriu, por ter estendido a mão à arca; e morreu ali perante Deus.
11 And David was angry because of the Lord’s outburst of wrath against Uzza, and he gave that place the name Perez-uzza, to this day.
11 E Davi se encheu de tristeza de que o SENHOR houvesse aberto brecha em Uzá; pelo que chamou àquele lugar Perez-Uzá, até ao dia de hoje.
12 And so great was David’s fear of God that day, that he said, How may I let the ark of God come to me?
12 E, naquele dia, temeu Davi ao Senhor, dizendo: Como trarei a mim a arca de Deus?
13 So David did not let the ark come back to him to the town of David, but had it turned away and put into the house of Obed-edom the Gittite.
13 Pelo que Davi não trouxe a arca a si, à Cidade de Davi; porém a fez retirar à casa de Obede-Edom, o geteu.
14 And the ark of God was in the house of Obed-edom for three months; and the Lord sent a blessing on the house of Obed-edom and on all he had.
14 Assim, ficou a arca de Deus com a família de Obede-Edom, três meses em sua casa; e o SENHOR abençoou a casa de Obede-Edom e tudo quanto tinha.
1 Chronicles 14
1 And Hiram, king of Tyre, sent men to David with cedar-trees, and stoneworkers and woodworkers for the building of his house.
1 Então, Hirão, rei de Tiro, mandou mensageiros a Davi, e madeira de cedro, e pedreiros, e carpinteiros, para lhe edificar uma casa.
2 And David saw that the Lord had made his position safe as king over Israel, lifting up his kingdom on high because of his people Israel.
2 E entendeu Davi que o SENHOR o tinha confirmado rei sobre Israel; porque o seu reino se tinha muito exaltado por amor do seu povo Israel.
3 And while he was living in Jerusalem, David took more wives and became the father of more sons and daughters.
3 E Davi tomou ainda mais mulheres em Jerusalém; e gerou Davi ainda mais filhos e filhas.
4 These are the names of the children he had in Jerusalem: Shammua and Shobab, Nathan and Solomon

5 And Ibhar and Elishua and Elpelet

8 And when the Philistines had news that David had been made king over all Israel, they went up in search of David, and David, hearing of it, went out against them.
8 Ouvindo, pois, os filisteus que Davi havia sido ungido rei sobre todo o Israel, todos os filisteus subiram em busca de Davi; o que ouvindo Davi, logo saiu contra eles.
9 Now the Philistines had come, and had gone out in every direction in the valley of Rephaim.
9 E, vindo os filisteus, se estenderam pelo vale dos Refains.
10 And David, desiring directions from God, said, Am I to go up against the Philistines? and will you give them into my hands? And the Lord said, Go up; for I will give them into your hands.
10 Então, consultou Davi a Deus, dizendo: Subirei contra os filisteus, e nas minhas mãos os entregarás? E o SENHOR lhe disse: Sobe, porque os entregarei nas tuas mãos.
11 So they went up to Baal-perazim, and David overcame them there, and David said, God has let the forces fighting against me be broken by my hand, as a wall is broken down by rushing water; so they gave that place the name of Baal-perazim.
11 E, subindo a Baal-Perazim, Davi ali os feriu; e disse Davi: Por minha mão, Deus derrotou a meus inimigos, como a rotura das águas. Pelo que chamaram o nome daquele lugar Baal-Perazim.
12 And the Philistines did not take their images with them in their flight; and at David’s orders they were burned with fire.
12 E deixaram ali seus deuses; e ordenou Davi que se queimassem a fogo.
13 Then the Philistines again went out in every direction in the valley.
13 Porém os filisteus tornaram e se estenderam pelo vale.
14 And David went for directions to God; and God said to him, You are not to go up after them; but, turning away from them, come face to face with them opposite the spice-trees.
14 E tornou Davi a consultar a Deus; e disse-lhe Deus: Não subirás atrás deles; mas anda em roda por detrás deles e vem a eles por defronte das amoreiras;
15 And at the sound of footsteps in the tops of the trees, go out to the fight, for God has gone out before you to overcome the army of the Philistines.
15 e há de ser que, ouvindo tu um ruído de andadura pelas copas das amoreiras, então, sai à peleja; porque Deus haverá saído diante de ti, a ferir o exército dos filisteus.
16 And David did as the Lord had said; and they overcame the army of the Philistines, attacking them from Gibeon as far as Gezer.
16 E fez Davi como Deus lhe ordenara; e feriram o exército dos filisteus desde Gibeão até Gezer.
17 And David’s name was honoured in all lands; and the Lord put the fear of him on all nations.
17 Assim se espalhou o nome de Davi por todas aquelas terras; e o SENHOR pôs o seu temor sobre todas aquelas gentes.
1 Chronicles 15
1 And David made houses for himself in the town of David; and he got ready a place for the ark of God, and put up a tent for it.
1 Fez também Davi casa para si na Cidade de Davi; e preparou um lugar para a arca de Deus e armou-lhe uma tenda.
2 Then David said, The ark of God may not be moved by any but the Levites, for they have been marked out by God to take the ark of God, and to do his work for ever.
2 Então, disse Davi: Ninguém pode levar a arca do SENHOR, senão os levitas; porque o SENHOR os elegeu, para levarem a arca do SENHOR e para o servirem eternamente.
3 And David made all Israel come together at Jerusalem, to take the ark of the Lord to its place, which he had got ready for it.
3 E Davi ajuntou a todo o Israel em Jerusalém, para fazerem subir a arca do SENHOR ao seu lugar, que lhe tinha preparado.
4 And David got together the sons of Aaron, and the Levites;

5 Of the sons of Kohath: Uriel the chief, and his brothers, a hundred and twenty;

12 And said to them, You are the heads of the families of the Levites: make yourselves holy, you and your brothers, so that you may take the ark of the Lord, the God of Israel, to the place which I have made ready for it.
12 e disse-lhes: Vós sois os chefes dos pais entre os levitas; santificai-vos, vós e vossos irmãos, para que façais subir a arca do SENHOR, Deus de Israel, ao lugar que lhe tenho preparado.
13 For because you did not take it at the first, the Lord our God sent punishment on us, because we did not get directions from him in the right way.
13 Pois que, porquanto primeiro vós assim o não fizestes, o SENHOR fez rotura em nós, porque o não buscamos segundo a ordenança.
14 So the priests and the Levites made themselves holy to take up the ark of the Lord, the God of Israel.
14 Santificaram-se, pois, os sacerdotes e levitas, para fazerem subir a arca do SENHOR, Deus de Israel.
15 And the sons of the Levites took up the ark of God, lifting it by its rods, as the Lord had said to Moses.
15 E os filhos dos levitas trouxeram a arca de Deus aos ombros, como Moisés tinha ordenado, conforme a palavra do SENHOR, com as varas que tinham sobre si.
16 And David gave orders to the chief of the Levites to put their brothers the music-makers in position, with instruments of music, corded instruments and brass, with glad voices making sounds of joy.
16 E disse Davi aos príncipes dos levitas que constituíssem a seus irmãos, os cantores, com instrumentos músicos, com alaúdes, harpas e címbalos, para que se fizessem ouvir, levantando a voz com alegria.
17 So Heman, the son of Joel, and, of his brothers, Asaph, the son of Berechiah; and of the sons of Merari their brothers, Ethan, the son of Kushaiah, were put in position by the Levites;
17 Ordenaram, pois, os levitas a Hemã, filho de Joel; e dos seus irmãos a Asafe, filho de Berequias; e dos filhos de Merari, seus irmãos, a Etã, filho de Cusaías.
18 And with them their brothers of the second order, Zechariah, Bani and Jaaziel and Shemiramoth and Jehiel and Unni, Eliab and Benaiah and Maaseiah and Mattithiah and Eliphelehu and Mikneiah, and Obed-edom and Jeiel, the door-keepers.
18 E com eles a seus irmãos da segunda ordem: Zacarias, e Bene, e Jaaziel, e Semiramote, e Jeiel, e Uni, e Eliabe, e Benaia, e Maaséias, e Matitias, e Elifeleu, e Micnéias, e Obede-Edom, e Jeiel, os porteiros.
19 So those who made melody, Heman, Asaph, and Ethan, were put in position, with brass instruments, sounding loudly;
19 E os cantores, Hemã, Asafe e Etã se faziam ouvir com címbalos de metal;
20 And Zechariah and Aziel and Shemiramoth and Jehiel, Unni and Eliab and Maaseiah and Benaiah, with corded instruments put to Alamoth.
20 e Zacarias, e Aziel, e Semiramote, e Jeiel, e Uni, e Eliabe, e Maaséias, e Benaia, com alaúdes, sobre Alamote;
21 And Mattithiah and Eliphelehu and Mikneiah and Obed-edom and Jeiel and Azaziah, with corded instruments on the octave, to give the first note of the song.
21 e Matitias, e Elifeleu, e Micnéias, e Obede-Edom, e Jeiel, e Azazias, com harpas, sobre Seminite, para esforçar o tom.
22 And Chenaniah, chief of the Levites, was master of the music: he gave directions about the song, because he was expert.
22 E Quenanias, príncipe dos levitas, tinha cargo de entoar o canto; ensinava-os a entoá-lo, porque era entendido nisso.
23 And Berechiah and Elkanah were door-keepers for the ark.
23 E Berequias e Elcana eram porteiros da arca.
24 And Shebaniah and Joshaphat and Nethanel and Amasai and Zechariah and Benaiah and Eliezer, the priests, made music on the horns before the ark of God; and Obed-edom and Jehiah were door-keepers for the ark.
24 E Sebanias, e Josafá, e Netanel, e Amasai, e Zacarias, e Benaia, e Eliézer, os sacerdotes, tocavam as trombetas perante a arca de Deus; e Obede-Edom e Jeías eram porteiros da arca.
25 So David, and the responsible men of Israel, and the captains over thousands, went with joy to get the ark of the agreement of the Lord out of the house of Obed-edom.
25 Sucedeu, pois, que Davi, e os anciãos de Israel, e os capitães dos milhares foram para fazerem subir, com alegria, a arca do concerto do SENHOR, da casa de Obede-Edom.
26 And when God gave help to the Levites who were lifting up the ark of the agreement of the Lord, they made an offering of seven oxen and seven sheep.
26 E sucedeu que, ajudando Deus os levitas que levavam a arca do concerto do SENHOR, sacrificaram sete novilhos e sete carneiros.
27 And David was clothed with a robe of fair linen, as were all the Levites who took up the ark, and those who made melody, and Chenaniah the master of those who made melody; and David had on a linen ephod;
27 E Davi ia vestido de um roupão de linho fino, como também todos os levitas que levavam a arca, e os cantores, e Quenanias, chefe dos que levavam a arca e dos cantores; também Davi levava sobre si um éfode de linho.
28 So all Israel took up the ark of the agreement of the Lord, with loud cries and with horns and brass and corded instruments sounding loudly.
28 E todo o Israel fez subir a arca do concerto do SENHOR, com júbilo, e com sonido de buzinas, e com trombetas, e com címbalos, fazendo sonido com alaúdes e com harpas.
29 And when the ark of the agreement of the Lord came into the town of David, Michal, the daughter of Saul, looking out of the window, saw King David dancing and playing; and to her mind he seemed foolish.
29 E sucedeu que, chegando a arca do concerto do SENHOR à Cidade de Davi, Mical, filha de Saul, olhou de uma janela e, vendo a Davi dançar e tocar, o desprezou no seu coração.
1 Chronicles 16
1 Then they took in the ark of God and put it inside the tent which David had put up for it; and they made offerings, burned offerings and peace-offerings before God.
1 Trazendo, pois, a arca de Deus, a puseram no meio da tenda que Davi lhe tinha armado; e ofereceram holocaustos e sacrifícios pacíficos perante Deus.
2 And when David had come to an end of making the burned offerings and peace-offerings, he gave the people a blessing in the name of the Lord.
2 E, acabando Davi de oferecer os holocaustos e sacrifícios pacíficos, abençoou o povo em nome do SENHOR.
3 And he gave to everyone, every man and woman of Israel, a cake of bread, some meat, and a cake of dry grapes.
3 E repartiu a todos em Israel, tanto a homens como a mulheres, a cada um um pão, e um bom pedaço de carne, e um frasco de vinho.
4 And he put some of the Levites before the ark of the Lord as servants, to keep the acts of the Lord in memory, and to give worship and praise to the Lord, the God of Israel:
4 E pôs perante a arca do SENHOR alguns dos levitas por ministros; e isso para recordarem, e louvarem, e celebrarem ao SENHOR, Deus de Israel.
5 Asaph the chief, and second to him Zechariah, Uzziel and Shemiramoth and Jehiel and Mattithiah and Eliab and Benaiah and Obed-edom and Jeiel, with corded instruments of music; and Asaph, with brass instruments sounding loudly;
5 Era Asafe o chefe, e Zacarias, o segundo, e depois dele Jeiel, e Semiramote, e Jeiel, e Matitias, e Eliabe, e Benaia, e Obede-Edom, e Jeiel, com alaúdes e com harpas; e Asafe se fazia ouvir com címbalos.
6 And Benaiah and Jahaziel the priests, blowing horns all the time before the ark of the agreement of God.
6 Também Benaia e Jaaziel, os sacerdotes, estavam continuamente com trombetas, perante a arca do concerto de Deus.
7 Then on that day David first made the giving of praise to the Lord the work of Asaph and his brothers.
7 Então, naquele mesmo dia, entregou Davi em primeiro lugar o Salmo seguinte, para louvarem ao SENHOR, pelo ministério de Asafe e de seus irmãos:
8 O give praise to the Lord; give honour to his name, talking of his doings among the peoples.
8 Louvai ao SENHOR, invocai o seu nome, fazei conhecidos entre os povos os seus feitos.
9 Let your voice be sounded in songs and melody; let all your thoughts be of the wonder of his works.
9 Cantai-lhe, salmodiai-lhe, atentamente falai de todas as suas maravilhas.
10 Have glory in his holy name; let the hearts of those who are searching after the Lord be glad.
10 Gloriai-vos no seu santo nome; alegre-se o coração dos que buscam o SENHOR.
11 Let your search be for the Lord and for his strength; let your hearts ever be turned to him.
11 Buscai o SENHOR e a sua força; buscai a sua face continuamente.
12 Keep in mind the great works which he has done; his wonders, and the decisions of his mouth;
12 Lembrai-vos das suas maravilhas que tem feito, dos seus prodígios, e dos juízos da sua boca.
13 O you seed of Israel his servant, you children of Jacob, his loved ones.
13 Vós, semente de Israel, seus servos, vós, filhos de Jacó, seus eleitos.
14 He is the Lord our God: he is judge of all the earth.
14 Ele é o SENHOR, nosso Deus; em toda a terra estão os seus juízos.
15 He has kept his agreement in mind for ever, the word which he gave for a thousand generations;
15 Lembrai-vos perpetuamente do seu concerto e da palavra que prescreveu para mil gerações;
16 The agreement which he made with Abraham, and his oath to Isaac;
16 do concerto que fez com Abraão e do seu juramento a Isaque;
17 And he gave it to Jacob for a law, and to Israel for an eternal agreement;

18 Saying, To you will I give the land of Canaan, the measured line of your heritage:
18 dizendo: A ti te darei a terra de Canaã, quinhão da vossa herança.
19 When you were still small in number, and strange in the land;
19 Sendo vós em pequeno número, poucos homens, e estrangeiros nela;
20 When they went about from one nation to another, and from one kingdom to another people;
20 andavam de nação em nação e de um reino para outro povo.
21 He would not let anyone do them wrong; he even kept back kings because of them,
21 A ninguém permitiu que os oprimisse e, por amor deles, repreendeu reis, dizendo:
22 Saying, Put not your hand on those who have been marked with my holy oil, and do my prophets no wrong.
22 Não toqueis os meus ungidos e aos meus profetas não façais mal.
23 Make songs to the Lord, all the earth; give the good news of his salvation day by day.
23 Cantai ao SENHOR em toda a terra; anunciai de dia em dia a sua salvação.
24 Make clear his glory to the nations, and his wonders to all the peoples.
24 Contai entre as nações a sua glória, entre todos os povos as suas maravilhas.
25 For the Lord is great, and greatly to be praised; and he is more to be feared than all other gods.
25 Porque grande é o SENHOR, e mui digno de ser louvado, e mais tremendo é do que todos os deuses.
26 For all the gods of the nations are false gods; but the Lord made the heavens.
26 Porque todos os deuses das nações são vaidades; porém o SENHOR fez os céus.
27 Honour and glory are before him: strength and joy are in his holy place.
27 Majestade e esplendor há diante dele, força e alegria, no seu lugar.
28 Give to the Lord, O you families of the peoples, give to the Lord glory and strength.
28 Dai ao SENHOR, ó famílias das nações, dai ao SENHOR glória e força.
29 Give to the Lord the glory of his name; take with you an offering and come before him; give worship to the Lord in holy robes.
29 Dai ao SENHOR a glória de seu nome; trazei presentes e vinde perante ele; adorai ao SENHOR na beleza da sua santidade.
30 Be in fear before him, all the earth: the world is ordered so that it may not be moved.
30 Trema perante ele, trema toda a terra; pois o mundo se firmará, para que se não abale.
31 Let the heavens have joy and let the earth be glad; let them say among the nations, The Lord is King.
31 Alegrem-se os céus, e regozije-se a terra; e diga-se entre as nações: O SENHOR reina.
32 Let the sea be thundering with all its waters; let the field be glad, and everything which is in it;
32 Brama o mar com a sua plenitude; exulte o campo com tudo o que há nele.
33 Then let all the trees of the wood be sounding with joy before the Lord, for he is come to be the judge of the earth.
33 Então, jubilarão as árvores dos bosques perante o SENHOR; porquanto vem a julgar a terra.
34 O give praise to the Lord, for he is good: for his mercy is unchanging for ever.
34 Louvai ao SENHOR, porque é bom; pois a sua benignidade dura perpetuamente.
35 And say, Be our saviour, O God of our salvation, and let us come back, and give us salvation from the nations, so that we may give honour to your holy name and have glory in your praise.
35 E dizei: Salva-nos, ó Deus da nossa salvação, e ajunta-nos, e livra-nos das nações; para que louvemos o teu santo nome e nos gloriemos no teu louvor.
36 Praise be to the Lord, the God of Israel, for ever and for ever. And all the people said, So be it; and gave praise to the Lord.
36 Louvado seja o SENHOR, Deus de Israel, de século em século. E todo o povo disse: Amém! E louvou ao SENHOR.
37 So he made Asaph and his brothers keep their places there before the ark of the agreement of the Lord, to do whatever had to be done before the ark at all times day by day:
37 Então, Davi deixou ali, diante da arca do concerto do SENHOR, a Asafe e a seus irmãos, para ministrarem continuamente perante a arca, segundo se ordenara para cada dia.
38 And Obed-edom, the son of Jeduthun, and Hosah, with their brothers, sixty-eight of them, to be door-keepers:
38 E mais a Obede-Edom, com seus irmãos, sessenta e oito; a este Obede-Edom, filho de Jedutum, e a Hosa, ordenou por porteiros.
39 And Zadok the priest, with his brothers the priests, before the House of the Lord in the high place at Gibeon;
39 E mais a Zadoque, o sacerdote, e a seus irmãos, os sacerdotes, diante do tabernáculo do SENHOR, no alto que estava em Gibeão,
40 To give burned offerings to the Lord on the altar of burned offerings morning and evening, every day, as it is ordered in the law of the Lord which he gave to Israel;
40 para oferecerem ao SENHOR os holocaustos sobre o altar dos holocaustos continuamente pela manhã e à tarde; e isso segundo tudo o que está escrito na Lei que o SENHOR tinha prescrito a Israel.
41 And with them Heman and Jeduthun, and the rest who were marked out by name to give praise to the Lord, for his mercy is unchanging for ever;
41 E com eles deixou a Hemã, e a Jedutum, e aos mais escolhidos, que foram apontados pelos seus nomes, para louvarem ao SENHOR, porque a sua benignidade dura perpetuamente.
42 And Heman and Jeduthun had horns and brass instruments sounding loudly, and instruments of music for the songs of God; and the sons of Jeduthun were to be at the door.
42 Com eles, pois, estavam Hemã, e Jedutum, e trombetas, e címbalos para os que os faziam ouvir, e instrumentos de música de Deus; porém os filhos de Jedutum estavam à porta.
43 And all the people went away, every man to his house; and David went back to give a blessing to his family.
43 Então, se foi todo o povo, cada um para a sua casa; e tornou Davi, para abençoar a sua casa.
1 Chronicles 17
1 Now when David was living in his house, he said to Nathan the prophet, See, I am living in a house of cedar-wood, but the ark of the Lord’s agreement is under the curtains of a tent.
1 Sucedeu, pois, que, morando Davi já em sua casa, disse Davi ao profeta Natã: Eis que moro em casa de cedros, mas a arca do concerto do SENHOR está debaixo de cortinas.
2 And Nathan said to David, Do whatever is in your heart, for God is with you.
2 Então, Natã disse a Davi: Tudo quanto tens no teu coração faze, porque Deus é contigo.
3 But that same night, the word of God came to Nathan, saying,
3 Mas sucedeu, na mesma noite, que a palavra do SENHOR veio a Natã, dizendo:
4 Go and say to David my servant, The Lord says, You are not to make me a house for my living-place:
4 Vai e dize a Davi, meu servo: Assim diz o SENHOR: Tu me não edificarás uma casa para morar,
5 For from the day when I took Israel up, till this day, I have had no house, but have gone from tent to tent, and from living-place to living-place.
5 porque em casa nenhuma morei, desde o dia em que fiz subir a Israel, até ao dia de hoje; mas fui de tenda em tenda e de tabernáculo em tabernáculo.
6 In all the places where I have gone with all Israel, did I ever say to any of the judges of Israel, whom I made the keepers of my people, Why have you not made for me a house of cedar?
6 Por todas as partes por onde andei com todo o Israel, porventura, falei alguma palavra a algum dos juízes de Israel, a quem ordenei que apascentasse o meu povo, dizendo: Por que me não edificais uma casa de cedros?
7 So now, say to my servant David, The Lord of armies says, I took you from the fields, from keeping sheep, so that you might be a ruler over my people Israel;
7 Agora, pois, assim dirás a meu servo, a Davi: Assim diz o SENHOR dos Exércitos: Eu te tirei do curral, de detrás das ovelhas, para que fosses chefe do meu povo de Israel.
8 And I have been with you wherever you went, cutting off before you all those who were against you; and I will make your name like the name of the greatest ones of the earth.
8 E estive contigo por toda parte por onde foste, e de diante de ti exterminei todos os teus inimigos, e te fiz um nome como o nome dos grandes que estão na terra.
9 And I will make a resting-place for my people Israel, planting them there, so that they may be in the place which is theirs and never again be moved; and never again will they be made waste by evil men, as they were at first,
9 E ordenarei um lugar para o meu povo de Israel e o plantarei, para que habite no seu lugar e nunca mais seja removido de uma para outra parte; e nunca mais os debilitarão os filhos da perversidade, como ao princípio,
10 From the time when I put judges over my people Israel; and I will overcome all those who are against you; and I will make you great and the head of a line of kings.
10 desde os dias em que ordenei juízes sobre o meu povo de Israel; porém abati todos os teus inimigos; também te fiz saber que o SENHOR te edificaria uma casa.
11 And when the time comes for you to go to your fathers, I will put in your place your seed after you, one of your sons, and I will make his kingdom strong.
11 Há de ser que, quando forem cumpridos os teus dias, para ires a teus pais, suscitarei a tua semente depois de ti, a qual será dos teus filhos, e confirmarei o seu reino.
12 He will be the builder of my house, and I will make the seat of his authority certain for ever.
12 Este me edificará casa; e eu confirmarei o seu trono para sempre.
13 I will be to him a father and he will be to me a son; and I will not take my mercy away from him as I took it from him who was before you;
13 Eu lhe serei por pai, e ele me será por filho; e a minha benignidade não desviarei dele, como a tirei daquele que foi antes de ti.
14 But I will make his place in my house and in my kingdom certain for ever; and the seat of his authority will never be overturned.
14 Mas o confirmarei na minha casa e no meu reino para sempre, e o seu trono será firme para sempre.
15 So Nathan gave David an account of all these words and this vision.
15 Conforme todas estas palavras e conforme toda esta visão, assim falou Natã a Davi.
16 Then David the king went in and took his seat before the Lord, and said, Who am I, O Lord God, and what is my family, that you have been my guide till now?
16 Então, entrou o rei Davi, e ficou perante o SENHOR, e disse: Quem sou eu, SENHOR Deus? E qual é a minha casa, que me trouxeste até aqui?
17 And this was only a small thing to you, O God; but your words have even been about the far-off future of your servant’s family, looking on me as on one of high position, O Lord God.
17 E ainda isso, ó Deus, foi pouco aos teus olhos; pelo que falaste da casa de teu servo para tempos distantes; e proveste-me, segundo o costume dos homens, com esta exaltação, ó SENHOR Deus.
18 What more may David say to you? for you have knowledge of your servant.
18 Que mais te dirá Davi, acerca da honra feita a teu servo? Porém tu bem conheces o teu servo.
19 O Lord, because of your servant, and from your heart, you have done all these great things and let them be seen.
19 Ó SENHOR, por amor de teu servo e segundo o teu coração, fizeste todas essas grandezas, para fazer notórias todas estas grandes coisas!
20 O Lord, there is no one like you, and no other God but you, as is clear from everything which has come to our ears.
20 SENHOR, ninguém há como tu, e não há Deus além de ti, conforme tudo quanto ouvimos com os nossos ouvidos.
21 And what other nation in the earth, like your people Israel, did a god go out to take for himself, to be his people, making his name great and to be feared, driving out the nations from before your people whom you made free and took out of Egypt?
21 E quem há como o teu povo de Israel, única nação na terra, a quem Deus foi remir para seu povo, fazendo-te nome com coisas grandes e temerosas, lançando as nações de diante do teu povo, que remiste do Egito?
22 For your people Israel you made yours for ever; and you, Lord, became their God.
22 E tomaste o teu povo de Israel para ser teu povo para sempre; e tu, SENHOR, lhe foste por Deus.
23 And now, Lord, let your words about your servant and about his family be made certain for ever, and do as you have said.
23 Agora, pois, SENHOR, a palavra que falaste de teu servo e acerca da sua casa, seja certa para sempre; e faze como falaste.
24 So let your words be made certain and your name be made great, when men say, The Lord of armies is the God of Israel; and when the family of David your servant is made strong before you.
24 Confirme-se com efeito, e que o teu nome se engrandeça para sempre, e diga-se: O SENHOR dos Exércitos é o Deus de Israel, é Deus para Israel; e fique firme diante de ti a casa de Davi, teu servo.
25 For you, O my God, have let your servant see that you will make him head of a line of kings; and so it has come into your servant’s heart to make his prayer to you.
25 Porque tu, Deus meu, revelaste ao ouvido de teu servo que lhe edificarias casa; pelo que o teu servo achou confiança para orar em tua presença.
26 And now, O Lord, you are God, and you have said you will give this good thing to your servant:
26 Agora, pois, SENHOR, tu és o mesmo Deus e falaste este bem acerca de teu servo.
27 And now you have been pleased to give your blessing to the family of your servant, so that it may go on for ever before you; you, O Lord, have given your blessing, and a blessing will be on it for ever.
27 Agora, pois, foste servido abençoares a casa de teu servo, para que esteja perpetuamente diante de ti; porque tu, SENHOR, a abençoaste, e ficará abençoada para sempre.
1 Chronicles 18
1 And it came about after this that David made an attack on the Philistines and overcame them, and took Gath with its daughter-towns out of the hands of the Philistines.
1 E, depois disso, aconteceu que Davi feriu os filisteus e os abateu; tomou a Gate e os lugares da sua jurisdição da mão dos filisteus.
2 And he overcame Moab, and the Moabites became his servants and gave him offerings.
2 Também feriu os moabitas, e os moabitas ficaram servos de Davi, trazendo presentes.
3 Then David overcame Hadadezer, king of Zobah, near Hamath, when he was going to make his power seen by the river Euphrates.
3 Também Davi feriu a Hadadezer, rei de Zobá, junto a Hamate, indo ele estabelecer os seus domínios pelo rio Eufrates.
4 And David took from him a thousand war-carriages and seven thousand horsemen and twenty thousand footmen: and he had the leg-muscles of all the horses cut, keeping only enough of them for a hundred war-carriages.
4 E Davi lhe tomou mil cavalos de carros, e sete mil cavaleiros, e vinte mil homens de pé; e Davi jarretou todos os cavalos dos carros, porém reservou deles cem cavalos.
5 And when the Aramaeans of Damascus came to the help of Hadadezer, king of Zobah, David put to the sword twenty-two thousand Aramaeans.
5 E vieram os siros de Damasco a ajudar a Hadadezer, rei de Zobá; porém dos siros feriu Davi vinte e dois mil homens.
6 Then David put armed forces in Damascus, and the Aramaeans became his servants and gave him offerings. And the Lord made David overcome wherever he went.
6 E Davi pôs guarnições na Síria de Damasco, e os siros ficaram servos de Davi, trazendo presentes; e o SENHOR guardava a Davi, por onde quer que ia.
7 And the gold body-covers of the servants of Hadadezer, David took to Jerusalem.
7 E tomou Davi os escudos de ouro que tinham os servos de Hadadezer e os trouxe a Jerusalém.
8 And from Tibhath and from Cun, towns of Hadadezer, David took a great store of brass, of which Solomon made the great brass water-vessel and the brass pillars and vessels.
8 Também de Tibate e de Cum, cidades de Hadadezer, tomou Davi muitíssimo cobre, de que Salomão fez o mar de cobre, e as colunas, e os utensílios de cobre.
9 Now when Tou, king of Hamath, had news that David had overcome all the army of Hadadezer, king of Zobah,
9 E, ouvindo Toú, rei de Hamate, que Davi destruíra todo o exército de Hadadezer, rei de Zobá,
10 He sent his son Hadoram to King David, to give him words of peace and blessing, because he had overcome Hadadezer in the fight, for Hadadezer had been at war with Tou; and he gave him all sorts of vessels of gold and silver and brass.
10 mandou seu filho Hadorão a Davi, para lhe perguntar como estava, e para o abençoar, por haver pelejado com Hadadezer e o destruir (porque Hadadezer fazia guerra a Toú), enviando-lhe juntamente toda sorte de vasos de ouro, e de prata, e de cobre,
11 These King David made holy to the Lord, together with the silver and gold he had taken from all nations; from Edom and Moab and from the children of Ammon and from the Philistines and from Amalek.
11 os quais Davi também consagrou ao SENHOR, juntamente com a prata e ouro que trouxera de todas as mais nações: dos edomitas, e dos moabitas, e dos filhos de Amom, e dos filisteus, e dos amalequitas.
12 And when he came back from putting to the sword eighteen thousand of the Edomites in the Valley of Salt,
12 Também Abisai, filho de Zeruia, feriu a dezoito mil edomitas no vale do Sal.
13 David put armed forces in all the towns of Edom; and all the Edomites became servants to David. The Lord made David overcome wherever he went.
13 E pôs guarnições em Edom, e todos os edomitas ficaram servos de Davi; e o SENHOR guardava a Davi, por onde quer que ia.
14 So David was king over all Israel, judging and giving right decisions for all his people.
14 E Davi reinou sobre todo o Israel; fazia juízo e justiça a todo o seu povo.
15 And Joab, the son of Zeruiah, was chief of the army; and Jehoshaphat, son of Ahilud, was keeper of the records.
15 E Joabe, filho de Zeruia, tinha cargo do exército; e Josafá, filho de Ailude, era chanceler.
16 And Zadok, the son of Ahitub; and Ahimelech, the son of Abiathar, were priests; and Shavsha was the scribe;
16 E Zadoque, filho de Aitube, e Abimeleque, filho de Abiatar, eram sacerdotes; e Sausa, escrivão.
17 And Benaiah, the son of Jehoiada, was over the Cherethites and the Pelethites; and the sons of David were chief of those whose places were at the king’s side.
17 E Benaia, filho de Joiada, tinha cargo dos quereteus e peleteus; porém os filhos de Davi, os primeiros, estavam à mão do rei.
1 Chronicles 19
1 Now it came about after this that death came to Nahash, the king of the children of Ammon, and his son became king in his place.
1 E aconteceu, depois disso, que Naás, rei dos filhos de Amom, morreu, e seu filho reinou em seu lugar.
2 And David said, I will be a friend to Hanun, the son of Nahash, because his father was a friend to me. So David sent men to him, to give him words of comfort on account of his father. And the servants of David came to Hanun, to the land of the children of Ammon, offering him comfort.
2 Então, disse Davi: Usarei de beneficência com Hanum, filho de Naás, porque seu pai usou de beneficência comigo. Pelo que Davi enviou mensageiros para o consolarem acerca de seu pai. E, vindo os servos de Davi à terra dos filhos de Amom, a Hanum, para o consolarem,
3 But the chiefs of the children of Ammon said to Hanun, Does it seem to you that David is honouring your father, by sending comforters to you? is it not clear that these men have only come to go through the land and to make secret observation of it so that they may overcome it?
3 disseram os príncipes dos filhos de Amom a Hanum: Porventura, honra Davi a teu pai aos teus olhos, porque te mandou consoladores? Não vieram seus servos a ti a esquadrinhar, e a transtornar, e a espiar a terra?
4 So Hanun took David’s servants, and cutting off their hair and the skirts of their robes up to the middle, sent them away.
4 Pelo que Hanum tomou os servos de Davi, e os rapou, e lhes cortou as vestes pelo meio até à coxa da perna, e os despediu.
5 Then certain men went and gave David word of what had been done to them. And he sent out with the purpose of meeting them; for the men were greatly shamed. And the king said, Keep where you are at Jericho till your hair is long again, and then come back.
5 E foram-se e avisaram a Davi acerca destes homens; e mandou ao encontro deles, porque aqueles homens estavam sobremaneira envergonhados. Disse, pois, o rei: Deixai-vos ficar em Jericó, até que vos torne a crescer a barba; e, então, tornai.
6 And when the children of Ammon saw that they had made themselves hated by David, Hanun and the children of Ammon sent a thousand talents of silver as payment for war-carriages and horsemen from Mesopotamia and Aram-maacah and Zobah.
6 Vendo, pois, os filhos de Amom que se tinham feito odiosos para com Davi, então, enviou Hanum e os filhos de Amom mil talentos de prata, para alugarem para si carros e cavaleiros da Mesopotâmia, e da Síria de Maaca, e de Zobá.
7 So with this money they got thirty-two thousand war-carriages, and the help of the king of Maacah and his people, who came and took up their position in front of Medeba. And the children of Ammon came together from their towns for the fight.
7 E alugaram para si trinta e dois mil carros, e o rei de Maaca, e a sua gente; e eles vieram e se acamparam diante de Medeba; também os filhos de Amom se ajuntaram das suas cidades e vieram para a guerra.
8 And David, hearing of it, sent Joab with all the army of fighting-men.
8 O que ouvindo Davi, enviou Joabe e todo o exército dos homens valorosos.
9 So the children of Ammon came out and put their forces in position on the way into the town; and the kings who had come were stationed by themselves in the field.
9 E, saindo os filhos de Amom, ordenaram a batalha à porta da cidade; porém os reis que vieram se puseram à parte no campo.
10 Now when Joab saw that their forces were in position against him in front and at his back, he took all the best men of Israel, and put them in line against the Aramaeans;
10 E, vendo Joabe que a frente da batalha estava contra ele por diante e por detrás, fez escolha dentre os mais escolhidos de Israel e os ordenou contra os siros;
11 And the rest of the people he put in position against the children of Ammon with Abishai, his brother, at their head.
11 e o resto do povo entregou na mão de Abisai, seu irmão; e puseram-se em ordem de batalha contra os filhos de Amom.
12 And he said, If the Aramaeans are stronger and get the better of me, then come to my help; and if the children of Ammon get the better of you, I will come to your help.
12 E disse Joabe: Se os siros forem mais fortes do que eu, tu virás socorrer-me; e, se os filhos de Amom forem mais fortes do que tu, então, eu socorrerei a ti.
13 Take heart, and let us be strong for our people and for the towns of our God; and may the Lord do what seems good to him.
13 Esforça-te, e esforcemo-nos pelo nosso povo e pelas cidades do nosso Deus, e faça o SENHOR o que parecer bem aos seus olhos.
14 So Joab and the people who were with him went forward into the fight against the Aramaeans, and they went in flight before him.
14 Então, se chegou Joabe e o povo que tinha consigo diante dos siros, para a batalha; e fugiram de diante dele.
15 And when the children of Ammon saw the flight of the Aramaeans, they themselves went in flight from Abishai, his brother, and came into the town. Then Joab came back to Jerusalem.
15 Vendo, pois, os filhos de Amom que os siros fugiram, também eles fugiram de diante de Abisai, irmão de Joabe, e entraram na cidade; e veio Joabe para Jerusalém.
16 And when the Aramaeans saw that Israel had overcome them, they sent men to get the Aramaeans who were on the other side of the River, with Shophach, the captain of Hadadezer’s army, at their head.
16 E, vendo os siros que foram derrotados diante de Israel, enviaram mensageiros e fizeram sair os siros que habitavam da banda dalém do rio; e Sofaque, capitão do exército de Hadadezer, marchava diante deles.
17 And word of this was given to David; and he got all Israel together and went over Jordan and came to Helam and put his forces in position against them. And when David’s forces were in position against the Aramaeans, the fight was started.
17 Do que avisado Davi, ajuntou a todo o Israel, e passou o Jordão, e veio ter com eles, e ordenou contra eles a batalha; e, tendo Davi ordenado a batalha contra os siros, pelejaram estes contra ele.
18 And the Aramaeans went in flight before Israel; and David put to the sword the men of seven thousand Aramaean war-carriages and forty thousand footmen, and put to death Shophach, the captain of the army.
18 Porém os siros fugiram de diante de Israel, e feriu Davi, dos siros, sete mil cavalos de carros e quarenta mil homens de pé; e a Sofaque, capitão do exército, matou.
19 And when the servants of Hadadezer saw that they were overcome by Israel, they made peace with David and became his servants: and the Aramaeans would give no more help to the children of Ammon.
19 Vendo, pois, os servos de Hadadezer que tinham sido feridos diante de Israel, fizeram paz com Davi e o serviram; e os siros nunca mais quiseram socorrer os filhos de Amom.
1 Chronicles 20
1 Now in the spring, at the time when kings go out to war, Joab went out at the head of the armed forces and made waste all the land of the Ammonites and put his men in position before Rabbah, shutting it in. But David was still at Jerusalem. And Joab took Rabbah and made it waste.
1 Aconteceu, pois, que, no decurso de um ano, no tempo em que os reis costumam sair para a guerra, Joabe levou o exército, e destruiu a terra dos filhos de Amom, e veio, e cercou a Rabá; porém Davi ficou em Jerusalém; e Joabe feriu a Rabá e a destruiu.
2 And David took the crown of Milcom from off his head; its weight was a talent of gold and it had stones of great price in it; and it was put on David’s head, and he took a great store of goods from the town.
2 E Davi tirou da cabeça do rei a coroa deste e achou nela o peso de um talento de ouro, e havia nela pedras preciosas; e foi posta sobre a cabeça de Davi; e levou da cidade mui grande despojo.
3 And he took the people out of the town and put them to work with wood-cutting instruments, and iron grain-crushers, and axes. And this he did to all the towns of the children of Ammon. Then David and all the people went back to Jerusalem.
3 Também o povo que estava nela levou e os fez serrar com a serra e cortar com talhadeiras de ferro e com machados; e assim fez Davi com todas as cidades dos filhos de Amom; então, voltou Davi, com todo o povo, para Jerusalém.
4 Now after this there was war with the Philistines at Gezer; then Sibbecai the Hushathite put to death Sippai, one of the offspring of the Rephaim; and they were overcome.
4 E, depois disso, aconteceu que, levantando-se guerra em Gezer com os filisteus, então, Sibecai, o husatita, feriu a Sipai, dos filhos de Rafa; e os filisteus ficaram abatidos.
5 And again there was war with the Philistines; and Elhanan, the son of Jair, put to death Lahmi, the brother of Goliath the Gittite, the stem of whose spear was like a cloth-worker’s rod.
5 E tornou a haver guerra com os filisteus; e Elanã, filho de Jair, feriu a Lami, irmão de Golias, o geteu, cuja haste da lança era como eixo de tecelão.
6 And again there was war at Gath, where there was a very tall man, who had twenty-four fingers and toes, six fingers on his hands and six toes on his feet; he was one of the offspring of the Rephaim.
6 E tornou a haver guerra em Gate; e havia ali um homem de grande estatura, e tinha vinte e quatro dedos, seis em cada mão, e seis em cada pé, e também era da raça de Rafa.
7 And when he put shame on Israel, Jonathan, the son of Shimea, David’s brother, put him to death.
7 E injuriou a Israel; porém Jônatas, filho de Siméia, irmão de Davi, o feriu.
8 These were of the offspring of the Rephaim in Gath; they came to their death by the hands of David and his servants.
8 Estes nasceram a Rafa em Gate; e caíram pela mão de Davi e pela mão dos seus servos.
1 Chronicles 21
1 Now Satan, designing evil against Israel, put into David’s mind the impulse to take the number of Israel.
1 Então, Satanás se levantou contra Israel e incitou Davi a numerar a Israel.
2 And David said to Joab and the captains of the people, Now let all Israel, from Beer-sheba to Dan, be numbered; and give me word so that I may be certain of their number.
2 E disse Davi a Joabe e aos maiorais do povo: Ide, contai a Israel desde Berseba até Dã; e trazei-me a conta, para que saiba o número deles.
3 And Joab said, May the Lord make his people a hundred times more in number than they are; but, my lord king, are they not all my lord’s servants? why would my lord have this done? why will he become a cause of sin to Israel?
3 Então, disse Joabe: O SENHOR acrescente ao seu povo cem vezes tanto como é; porventura, ó rei, meu senhor, não são todos servos de meu senhor? Por que procura isso o meu senhor? Por que seria isso causa de delito para com Israel?
4 But the king’s word was stronger than Joab’s. So Joab went out and went through all Israel and came to Jerusalem.
4 Porém a palavra do rei prevaleceu contra Joabe; pelo que saiu Joabe e passou por todo o Israel; então, voltou para Jerusalém.
5 And Joab gave David the number of all the people; all the men of Israel, able to take up arms, were one million, one hundred thousand men; and those of Judah were four hundred and seventy thousand men, able to take up arms.
5 E Joabe deu a Davi a soma do número do povo; e era todo o Israel um milhão e cem mil homens, dos que arrancavam espada; e de Judá quatrocentos e setenta mil homens, dos que arrancavam espada.
6 But Levi and Benjamin were not numbered among them, for Joab was disgusted with the king’s order.
6 Porém os de Levi e Benjamim não contou entre eles, porque a palavra do rei foi abominável a Joabe.
7 And God was not pleased with this thing; so he sent punishment on Israel.
7 E esse negócio também pareceu mal aos olhos de Deus, pelo que feriu a Israel.
8 Then David said to God, Great has been my sin in doing this; but now, be pleased to take away the sin of your servant, for I have done very foolishly.
8 Então, disse Davi a Deus: Gravemente pequei em fazer tal coisa; porém, agora, sê servido tirar a iniqüidade de teu servo, porque procedi mui loucamente.
9 Then the word of the Lord came to Gad, David’s seer, saying,
9 Falou, pois, o SENHOR a Gade, o vidente de Davi, dizendo:
10 Go and say to David, The Lord says, Three things are offered to you: say which of them you will have, so that I may do it to you.
10 Vai e fala a Davi, dizendo: Assim diz o SENHOR: Três coisas te proponho; escolhe uma delas, para que eu ta faça.
11 So Gad came to David and said to him, The Lord says, Take whichever you will:
11 E Gade veio a Davi e lhe disse: Assim diz o SENHOR: Escolhe para ti:
12 Three years when there will not be enough food; or three months of war, when you will go in flight before your haters, being in great danger of the sword; or three days of the sword of the Lord, disease in the land, and the angel of the Lord taking destruction through all the land of Israel. Now give thought to the answer I am to take back to him who sent me.
12 ou três anos de fome, ou que três meses te consumas diante de teus adversários, e a espada de teus inimigos te alcance, ou que três dias a espada do SENHOR, isto é, a peste na terra e o anjo do SENHOR destruam todos os termos de Israel; vê, pois, agora, que resposta hei de levar a quem me enviou.
13 And David said to Gad, This is a hard decision for me to make: let me come into the hands of the Lord, for great are his mercies: let me not come into the hands of men.
13 Então, disse Davi a Gade: Estou em grande angústia; caia eu, pois, nas mãos do SENHOR, porque são muitíssimas as suas misericórdias; mas que eu não caia nas mãos dos homens.
14 So the Lord sent disease on Israel, causing the death of seventy thousand men.
14 Mandou, pois, o SENHOR a peste a Israel; e caíram de Israel setenta mil homens.
15 And God sent an angel to Jerusalem for its destruction: and when he was about to do so, the Lord saw, and had regret for the evil, and said to the angel of destruction, It is enough; do no more. Now the angel of the Lord was by the grain-floor of Ornan the Jebusite.
15 E o Senhor mandou um anjo a Jerusalém para a destruir; e, ao destruí-la ele, o SENHOR o viu, e se arrependeu daquele mal, e disse ao anjo destruidor: Basta! Agora, retira a tua mão. E o anjo do SENHOR estava junto à eira de Ornã, o jebuseu.
16 And David, lifting up his eyes, saw the angel of the Lord there between earth and heaven, with an uncovered sword in his hand stretched out over Jerusalem. Then David and the responsible men, clothed in haircloth, went down on their faces.
16 E, levantando Davi os seus olhos, viu o anjo do SENHOR, que estava entre a terra e o céu, com a espada desembainhada na sua mão estendida contra Jerusalém; então, Davi e os anciãos, cobertos de panos de saco, se prostraram sobre os seus rostos.
17 And David said to God, Was it not I who gave the order for the people to be numbered? It is I who have done the sin and the great wrong; but these are only sheep; what have they done? let your hand, O Lord God, be lifted up against me and against my family, but not against your people to send disease on them.
17 E disse Davi a Deus: Não sou eu o que disse que se contasse o povo? E eu mesmo sou o que pequei e fiz muito mal; mas estas ovelhas que fizeram? Ah! SENHOR, meu Deus, seja a tua mão contra mim e contra a casa de meu pai e não para castigo de teu povo.
18 Then the angel of the Lord gave orders to Gad to say to David that he was to go and put up an altar to the Lord on the grain-floor of Ornan the Jebusite.
18 Então, o anjo do SENHOR disse a Gade que dissesse a Davi que subisse Davi para levantar um altar ao SENHOR na eira de Ornã, o jebuseu.
19 And David went up, as Gad had said in the name of the Lord.
19 Subiu, pois, Davi, conforme a palavra de Gade, que falara em nome do SENHOR.
20 And Ornan, turning back, saw the angel, and his four sons who were with him went to a secret place. Now Ornan was crushing his grain.
20 E, virando-se Ornã, viu o anjo, e se esconderam com ele seus quatro filhos; e Ornã estava trilhando o trigo.
21 And when David came, Ornan, looking, saw him, and came out from the grain-floor and went down on his face to the earth before him.
21 E Davi veio a Ornã; e olhou Ornã, e viu a Davi, e saiu da eira, e se prostrou perante Davi com o rosto em terra.
22 Then David said to Ornan, Give me the place where this grain-floor is, so that I may put up an altar here to the Lord: let me have it for its full price; so that this disease may be stopped among the people.
22 E disse Davi a Ornã: Dá-me este lugar da eira, para edificar nele um altar ao SENHOR; dá-mo pelo seu valor, para que cesse este castigo sobre o povo.
23 And Ornan said to David, Take it, and let my lord the king do what seems right to him. See, I give you the oxen for burned offerings and the grain-cleaning instruments for fire-wood, and the grain for the meal offering; I give it all.
23 Então, disse Ornã a Davi: Toma-a para ti, e faça o rei, meu senhor, dela o que parecer bem aos seus olhos; eis que dou os bois para holocaustos, e os trilhos para lenha, e o trigo para oferta de manjares; tudo dou.
24 And King David said to Ornan, No; I will certainly give you the full price for it, because I will not take for the Lord what is yours, or give a burned offering without payment.
24 E disse o rei Davi a Ornã: Não! Antes, pelo seu valor a quero comprar; porque não tomarei o que é teu, para o SENHOR, para que não ofereça holocausto sem custo.
25 So David gave Ornan six hundred shekels of gold by weight for the place.
25 E Davi deu a Ornã por aquele lugar o peso de seiscentos siclos de ouro.
26 And David put up an altar there to the Lord, offering burned offerings and peace-offerings with prayers to the Lord; and he gave him an answer from heaven, sending fire on the altar of burned offering.
26 Então, Davi edificou ali um altar ao SENHOR, e ofereceu nele holocaustos e sacrifícios pacíficos, e invocou o SENHOR, o qual lhe respondeu com fogo do céu sobre o altar do holocausto.
27 Then the Lord gave orders to the angel, and he put back his sword into its cover.
27 E o SENHOR deu ordem ao anjo, e ele meteu a sua espada na bainha.
28 At that time, when David saw that the Lord had given him an answer on the grain-floor of Ornan the Jebusite, he made an offering there.
28 Vendo Davi, no mesmo tempo, que o SENHOR lhe respondera na eira de Ornã, o jebuseu, sacrificou ali.
29 For the House of the Lord, which Moses had made in the waste land, and the altar of burned offerings, were at that time in the high place at Gibeon.
29 Porque o tabernáculo do SENHOR, que Moisés fizera no deserto, e o altar do holocausto estavam, naquele tempo, no alto de Gibeão.
30 But David was not able to go before it to get directions from the Lord, so great was his fear of the sword of the angel of the Lord.
30 E não podia Davi ir ali consultar ao Senhor, porque estava aterrorizado por causa da espada do anjo do SENHOR.
1 Chronicles 22
1 Then David said, This is the house of the Lord God, and this is the altar for Israel’s burned offerings.
1 E disse Davi: Esta será a Casa do SENHOR Deus, e este será o altar do holocausto para Israel.
2 And David gave orders to get together all the men from strange lands who were in the land of Israel; and he put stone-cutters to work, cutting stones for building the house of God.
2 E deu ordem Davi que se ajuntassem os estranhos que estavam na terra de Israel; e ordenou cortadores de pedras, para que lavrassem pedras de cantaria, para edificar a Casa de Deus.
3 And he got together a great store of iron, for the nails for the doors and for the joins; and brass, more in weight than might be measured;
3 E aparelhou Davi ferro em abundância, para os pregos das portas das entradas e para as junturas, como também cobre em abundância, que nem foi pesado;
4 And cedar-trees without number, for the Zidonians and the men of Tyre came with a great amount of cedar-trees for David.
4 e madeira de cedro sem conta, porque os sidônios e tírios traziam a Davi madeira de cedro em abundância.
5 And David said, Solomon my son is young and untested, and the house which is to be put up for the Lord is to be very great, a thing of wonder and glory through all countries; so I will make ready what is needed for it. So David got ready a great store of material before his death.
5 Porque dizia Davi: Salomão, meu filho, ainda é moço e tenro, e a casa que se há de edificar para o SENHOR se há de fazer magnífica em excelência, para nome e glória em todas as terras; eu, pois, agora, lhe prepararei materiais. Assim, preparou Davi materiais em abundância, antes da sua morte.
6 Then he sent for his son Solomon, and gave him orders for the building of a house for the Lord, the God of Israel.
6 Então, chamou a Salomão, seu filho, e lhe ordenou que edificasse uma Casa ao SENHOR, Deus de Israel.
7 And David said to Solomon, My son, it was my desire to put up a house for the name of the Lord my God.
7 E disse Davi a Salomão: Filho meu, quanto a mim, tive em meu coração o edificar casa ao nome do SENHOR, meu Deus.
8 But the word of the Lord came to me saying, You have taken lives without number and made great wars; I will not let you be the builder of a house for my name, because of the lives you have taken on the earth before my eyes.
8 Porém a mim a palavra do SENHOR veio, dizendo: Tu derramaste sangue em abundância e fizeste grandes guerras; não edificarás casa ao meu nome; porquanto muito sangue tens derramado na terra, perante a minha face.
9 But you will have a son who will be a man of rest; and I will give him rest from wars on every side. His name will be Solomon, and in his time I will give Israel peace and quiet;
9 Eis que o filho que te nascer será homem de repouso; porque repouso lhe hei de dar de todos os seus inimigos em redor; portanto, Salomão será o seu nome, e paz e descanso darei a Israel nos seus dias.
10 He will be the builder of a house for my name; he will be to me a son, and I will be to him a father; and I will make the seat of his rule over Israel certain for ever.
10 Este edificará casa ao meu nome; ele me será por filho, e eu a ele por pai; e confirmarei o trono de seu reino sobre Israel, para sempre.
11 Now, my son, may the Lord be with you; and may you do well, and put up the house of the Lord your God, as he has said of you.
11 Agora, pois, meu filho, o SENHOR seja contigo, e prospera e edifica a Casa do SENHOR, teu Deus, como ele disse de ti.
12 Only may the Lord give you wisdom, and knowledge of his orders for Israel, so that you may keep the law of the Lord your God.
12 O SENHOR te dê tão-somente prudência e entendimento e te instrua acerca de Israel; e isso para guardar a Lei do SENHOR, teu Deus.
13 And all will go well for you, if you take care to keep the laws and the rules which the Lord gave to Moses for Israel: be strong and take heart; have no fear and do not be troubled.
13 Então, prosperarás, se tiveres cuidado de fazer os estatutos e os juízos, que o SENHOR mandou a Moisés acerca de Israel; esforça-te, e tem bom ânimo, e não temas, nem tenhas pavor.
14 Now see, poor though I am, I have got ready for the house of the Lord a hundred thousand talents of gold and a million talents of silver; and a weight of brass and iron greater than may be measured; and wood and stone have I made ready, and you may put more to it.
14 Eis que na minha opressão preparei para a Casa do SENHOR cem mil talentos de ouro, e um milhão de talentos de prata, e de cobre e de ferro que nem foi pesado, porque em abundância é; também madeira e pedras preparei, e tu, supre o que faltar.
15 And you have a great number of workmen, cutters and workers of stone and wood, and experts in every sort of work,
15 Também tens contigo oficiais mecânicos em multidão, e cortadores, e artífices em obra de pedra e madeira, e toda sorte de sábios em toda sorte de obra.
16 In gold and silver and brass and iron more than may be numbered. Up! then, and to work; and may the Lord be with you.
16 Do ouro, e da prata, e do cobre, e do ferro não há número; levanta-te, pois, e faze a obra, e o SENHOR seja contigo.
17 Then David gave orders to all the chiefs of Israel to give their help to Solomon his son, saying,
17 E Davi deu ordem a todos os príncipes de Israel que ajudassem a Salomão, seu filho, dizendo:
18 Is not the Lord your God with you? and has he not given you rest on every side? for the Lord has given the people of the land into my hands, and the land is overcome before the Lord and before his people.
18 Porventura, não está convosco o SENHOR, vosso Deus, e não vos deu repouso em roda? Porque tem entregado na minha mão os moradores da terra; e a terra foi sujeita perante o SENHOR e perante o seu povo.
19 Now give your heart and soul to the worship of the Lord your God; and get to work on the building of the holy place of the Lord God, so that you may put the ark of the Lord’s agreement and the holy vessels of God in the house which is to be made for the name of the Lord.
19 Disponde, pois, agora, o vosso coração e a vossa alma para buscardes ao SENHOR, vosso Deus; e levantai-vos e edificai o santuário do SENHOR Deus, para que a arca do concerto do SENHOR e os utensílios sagrados de Deus se tragam a esta casa, que se há de edificar ao nome do SENHOR.
1 Chronicles 23
1 Now David was old and full of days; and he made his son Solomon king over Israel.
1 Sendo, pois, Davi já velho e cheio de dias, fez a Salomão, seu filho, rei sobre Israel.
2 And he got together all the chiefs of Israel, with the priests and the Levites.
2 E ajuntou todos os príncipes de Israel, como também os sacerdotes e levitas.
3 And the Levites, all those of thirty years old and over, were numbered; and the number of them, by heads, man by man, was thirty-eight thousand.
3 E foram contados os levitas de trinta anos para cima; e foi o número deles, segundo as suas cabeças, trinta e oito mil homens.
4 Of these, twenty-four thousand were to be overseers of the work of the house of the Lord, and six thousand were judges and men of authority;
4 Destes, havia vinte e quatro mil, para promoverem a obra da Casa do SENHOR, e seis mil oficiais e juízes,
5 Four thousand were door-keepers; and four thousand gave praise to the Lord with the instruments which I made, said David, for giving praise.

6 And David put them into divisions under the names of the sons of Levi: Gershon, Kohath, and Merari.

7 Of the Gershonites: Ladan and Shimei.

8 The sons of Ladan: Jehiel the chief, and Zetham and Joel, three.

9 The sons of Shimei: Shelomoth and Haziel and Haran, three; these were the heads of the families of Ladan.

11 Jahath was the chief and Zizah the second; but Jeush and Beriah had only a small number of sons, so they were grouped together as one family.

12 The sons of Kohath: Amram, Izhar, Hebron, and Uzziel, four.

13 The sons of Amram: Aaron and Moses; and Aaron was made separate and holy, he and his sons for ever, for the care of the most holy things and the burning of offerings before the Lord, to do his work and give blessings in his name for ever.

24 These were the sons of Levi, grouped by families, the heads of the families of those who were numbered by name, by heads, all those of twenty years old and over who did the work of the house of the Lord.

26 And from now, there will be no need for the House of the Lord, and the vessels used in it, to be moved about by the Levites.

27 So among the last acts of David was the numbering of the sons of Levi, from twenty years old and over.

28 Their place was by the side of the sons of Aaron in all the work of the house of the Lord, in the open spaces and in the rooms, in the making clean of all the holy things, in doing all the work of the house of the Lord,

30 They had to take their places every morning to give praise and make melody to the Lord, and in the same way at evening;
30 e para estarem cada manhã em pé para louvarem e celebrarem ao SENHOR; e semelhantemente, à tarde;
31 At every offering of burned offerings to the Lord, on Sabbaths, and at the new moons, and on the regular feasts, in the number ordered by the law, at all times before the Lord;
31 e para cada oferecimento dos holocaustos do SENHOR, nos sábados, e nas luas novas, e nas solenidades, por conta, segundo o seu costume, continuamente perante o SENHOR;
32 And they had the care of the Tent of meeting and the holy place, under the direction of the sons of Aaron their brothers, for the work of the house of the Lord.
32 e para que tivessem cuidado da guarda da tenda da congregação, e da guarda do santuário, e da guarda dos filhos de Arão, seus irmãos, no ministério da Casa do SENHOR.
1 Chronicles 24
1 Now the divisions into which the sons of Aaron were grouped were these: the sons of Aaron, Nadab and Abihu, Eleazar and Ithamar.

2 But Nadab and Abihu came to their end before their father, and had no children; so Eleazar and Ithamar did the work of priests.

3 And David, with Zadok of the sons of Eleazar, and Ahimelech of the sons of Ithamar, made distribution of them into their positions for their work.

4 And there were more chiefs among the sons of Eleazar than among the sons of Ithamar; and this is how they were grouped: of the sons of Eleazar there were sixteen, all heads of families; and of the sons of Ithamar, heads of families, there were eight.
4 E achou-se que eram muitos mais os filhos de Eleazar entre os chefes de famílias do que os filhos de Itamar, quando os repartiram; dos filhos de Eleazar, dezesseis chefes das casas dos pais, mas dos filhos de Itamar, segundo as casas de seus pais, oito.
5 So they were put into groups, by the Lord’s decision, one with another; for there were rulers of the holy place and rulers of the house of God among the sons of Eleazar and the sons of Ithamar.

6 And Shemaiah, the son of Nethanel the scribe, who was a Levite, put down their names in writing, the king being present with the rulers, and Zadok the priest, and Ahimelech, the son of Abiathar, and the heads of families of the priests and the Levites; one family being taken for Eleazar and then one for Ithamar, and so on.

20 And of the rest of the sons of Levi: of the sons of Amram, Shubael; of the sons of Shubael, Jehdeiah.

1 Further, David and the chiefs of the servants of the holy place made selection of certain of the sons of Asaph and of Heman and of Jeduthun for the work of prophets, to make melody with corded instruments and brass; and the number of the men for the work they had to do was:

5 All these were sons of Heman, the king’s seer in the words of God. And to make great his power God gave Heman fourteen sons and three daughters.
5 Todos estes foram filhos de Hemã, o vidente do rei nas palavras de Deus, para exaltar a corneta. Deus dera a Hemã catorze filhos e três filhas.
6 All these, under the direction of their father, made music in the house of the Lord, with brass and corded instruments, for the worship of the house of God; Asaph, Jeduthun, and Heman being under the orders of the king.
6 Todos estes estavam ao lado de seu pai para o canto da Casa do SENHOR, com saltérios, e alaúdes e harpas, para o ministério da Casa de Deus; e, ao lado do rei, Asafe, e Jedutum, e Hemã.
7 And the number of them, with their brothers who were trained and expert in making melody to the Lord, was two hundred and eighty-eight.

8 And selection was made of them for their special work, all having equal chances, small as well as great, the teacher as the learner.

13 And the families were taken by the decision of the Lord for every door; the small family had the same chance as the great.

14 And the care of the door on the east came out for Shelemiah. Then the name of Zechariah his son, a man wise in discussion, came out, and the door on the north was given to him.

19 These were the divisions of door-keepers, of the sons of the Korahites and of the sons of Merari.

20 And the Levites their brothers were responsible for the stores of the house of God and the holy things.

29 Of the Izharites, Chenaniah and his sons had to do all the public business of Israel, in relation to judges and men in authority.

30 Of the Hebronites, Hashabiah and his brothers, seventeen hundred able men, were overseers of Israel on the other side of the Jordan, to the west, being responsible for all the work of the Lord’s house and for the work done by the king’s servants.

1 Now the number of the children of Israel, that is, the heads of families, and the captains of thousands and of hundreds, and the men in authority who were servants of the king in anything to do with the divisions which came in and went out month by month through all the months of the year, in every division were twenty-four thousand.

5 The third captain of the army for the third month was Benaiah, the son of Jehoiada the priest; and in his division were twenty-four thousand.

6 This is the same Benaiah who was the great man of the thirty, chief of the thirty; and in his division was Ammizabad his son.

23 But David did not take the number of those who were under twenty years old, for the Lord had said that he would make Israel like the stars of heaven in number.

24 The numbering was started by Joab, the son of Zeruiah, but he did not go on to the end; and because of it, wrath came on Israel and the number was not recorded in the history of King David.

25 And Azmaveth, the son of Adiel, was controller of the king’s property; Jonathan, the son of Uzziah, had control of all store-houses in country places and in the towns and little towns and strong places;
25 E sobre os tesouros do rei estava Azmavete, filho de Adiel; e sobre os tesouros da terra, e das cidades, e das aldeias, e das torres, Jônatas, filho de Uzias;
26 Ezri, the son of Chelub, had authority over the field-workers and farmers;
26 e sobre os que faziam a obra do campo, na lavoura da terra, Ezri, filho de Quelube;
27 Shimei the Ramathite was responsible for the vine-gardens; Zabdi the Shiphmite was responsible for the produce of the vine-gardens and for all the stores of wine;
27 e sobre as vinhas, Simei, o ramatita; porém sobre o que das vides entrava nos tesouros do vinho, Zabdi o sifmita;
28 Baal-hanan the Gederite was responsible for the olive-trees and the sycamore-trees in the lowlands; and Joash for the stores of oil;
28 e sobre os olivais e figueiras bravas que havia nas campinas, Baal-Hanã, o gederita; porém Joás, sobre os tesouros do azeite;
29 And Shitrai the Sharonite was responsible for the herds in the grass-lands of Sharon, and Shaphat, the son of Adlai, for those in the valleys;
29 e sobre os gados que pasciam em Sarom, Sitrai, o saronita; porém sobre os gados dos vales, Safate, filho de Adlai;
30 Obil the Ishmaelite had control of the camels and Jehdeiah the Meronothite of the she-asses;
30 e sobre os camelos, Obil, o ismaelita; e sobre as jumentas, Jedias, o meronotita;
31 The flocks were in the care of Jaziz the Hagarite. All these were the controllers of King David’s property.
31 e sobre o gado miúdo, Jaziz, o hagarita; todos estes eram maiorais da fazenda que tinha o rei Davi.
32 Now Jonathan, David’s father’s brother, expert in discussion, and a man of good sense, was a scribe; and Jehiel the son of Hachmoni, had the care of the king’s sons;
32 Jônatas, tio de Davi, era do conselho, homem sábio e também escriba; e Jeiel, filho de Hacmoni, estava com os filhos do rei;
33 And Ahithophel was the king’s expert in discussion and Hushai the Archite was the king’s friend.
33 e Aitofel era do conselho do rei; e Husai, o arquita, amigo do rei;
34 After Ahithophel was Jehoiada, the son of Benaiah, and Abiathar; and the captain of the king’s army was Joab.

1 Chronicles 28
1 And David got together at Jerusalem all the rulers of Israel, the chiefs of the tribes and the captains of the divisions waiting on the king in turn, and the captains of thousands and the captains of hundreds and the controllers of all the goods and property of the king and his sons, with the unsexed servants and the great men of war.
1 Então, Davi convocou em Jerusalém todos os príncipes de Israel, os príncipes das tribos, e os capitães das turmas, que serviam o rei, e os capitães, dos milhares, e os capitães das centenas, e os maiorais de toda a fazenda e possessão do rei, e de seus filhos, como também os eunucos e varões, e todo varão valente.
2 Then David the king got up and said, Give ear to me, my brothers and my people; it was my desire to put up a house, a resting-place for the ark of the Lord’s agreement, and for the foot-rest of our God; and I had got material ready for the building of it.
2 E pôs-se o rei Davi em pé e disse: Ouvi-me, irmãos meus e povo meu: Em meu coração, propus eu edificar uma casa de repouso para a arca do concerto do SENHOR e para o escabelo dos pés do nosso Deus, e eu tinha feito o preparo para a edificar.
3 But God said to me, You are not to be the builder of a house for my name, because you are a man of war and have taken life;
3 Porém Deus me disse: Não edificarás casa ao meu nome, porque és homem de guerra e derramaste muito sangue.
4 Though the Lord, the God of Israel, took me out of all my father’s family, to be king over Israel for ever, marking out Judah to be chief, and, of the people of Judah, my father’s family; and among the sons of my father he was pleased to make me king over all Israel;
4 E o SENHOR, Deus de Israel, escolheu-me de toda a casa de meu pai, para que eternamente fosse rei sobre Israel; porque a Judá escolheu por príncipe, e a casa de meu pai, na casa de Judá; e entre os filhos de meu pai se agradou de mim para me fazer rei sobre todo o Israel.
5 And of all my sons (for the Lord has given me a great number of sons) he has made selection of Solomon to take his place on the seat of the kingdom of the Lord over Israel.
5 E, de todos os meus filhos (porque muitos filhos me deu o SENHOR), escolheu ele o meu filho Salomão para se assentar no trono do reino do SENHOR sobre Israel.
6 And he said to me, Solomon your son will be the builder of my house and the open spaces round it; for I have taken him to be my son, and I will be his father.
6 E me disse: Teu filho Salomão, ele edificará a minha casa e os meus átrios, porque o escolhi para filho e eu lhe serei por pai.
7 I will keep his kingdom in its place for ever, if he is strong at all times to do my orders and keep my rules, as at this day.
7 E estabelecerei o seu reino para sempre, se perseverar em cumprir os meus mandamentos e os meus juízos, como até ao dia de hoje.
8 So now, before the eyes of all Israel, the people of the Lord, and in the hearing of our God, keep and be true to the orders of the Lord your God; so that you may have this good land for yourselves and give it for a heritage to your children after you for ever.
8 Agora, pois, perante os olhos de todo o Israel, a congregação do SENHOR, e perante os ouvidos do nosso Deus, guardai e buscai todos os mandamentos do SENHOR, vosso Deus, para que possuais esta boa terra e a façais herdar a vossos filhos depois de vós, para sempre.
9 And you, Solomon my son, get knowledge of the God of your father, and be his servant with a true heart and with a strong desire, for the Lord is the searcher of all hearts, and has knowledge of all the designs of men’s thoughts; if you make search for him, he will be near you; but if you are turned away from him, he will give you up for ever.
9 E tu, meu filho Salomão, conhece o Deus de teu pai e serve-o com um coração perfeito e com uma alma voluntária; porque esquadrinha o SENHOR todos os corações e entende todas as imaginações dos pensamentos; se o buscares, será achado de ti; porém, se o deixares, rejeitar-te-á para sempre.
10 Now then, take note; for the Lord has made selection of you to be the builder of a house for the holy place. Be strong and do it.
10 Olha, pois, agora, porque o SENHOR te escolheu para edificares uma casa para o santuário; esforça-te e faze a obra.
11 Then David gave to his son Solomon the design of the doorway of the house of God and of its houses and its store-houses, and the higher rooms and the inner rooms and the place for the mercy-seat;
11 E deu Davi a Salomão, seu filho, o risco do alpendre com as suas casarias, e as suas tesourarias, e os seus cenáculos, e as suas recâmaras de dentro, como também da casa do propiciatório.
12 And the design of all he had in his heart for the outer squares of the house of the Lord, and for the rooms all round it, and for the store-houses of the house of the Lord, and for the store-houses for the holy things;
12 E também o risco de tudo quanto tinha no seu ânimo, a saber: dos átrios da Casa do SENHOR, e de todas as câmaras em redor, para os tesouros da Casa de Deus e para os tesouros das coisas sagradas;
13 And for the divisions of the priests and Levites, and for all the work in connection with the worship of the house of the Lord, and all the vessels used in the house of the Lord;
13 e das turmas dos sacerdotes, e dos levitas, e de toda obra do ministério da Casa do SENHOR, e de todos os utensílios do ministério da Casa do SENHOR.
14 Of gold, by weight, for the vessels of gold, for all the vessels of different uses; and silver for all the vessels of silver by weight, for vessels of different uses;
14 O ouro deu, segundo o peso do ouro, para todos os utensílios de cada ministério; também a prata, por peso, para todos os utensílios de prata, para todos os utensílios de cada espécie de serviço;
15 And gold by weight for the light-supports and the vessels for the lights, the weight of gold needed for every support and every vessel for lights; and for the silver light-supports, the weight of silver needed for every support and for the different vessels as every one was to be used;
15 e o peso para os castiçais de ouro e suas candeias de ouro, segundo o peso de cada castiçal e as suas candeias; também para os castiçais de prata, segundo o peso do castiçal e as suas candeias, segundo o uso de cada castiçal;
16 And gold by weight for the tables for the holy bread for every table, and silver for the silver tables;
16 também deu o ouro por peso para as mesas da proposição, para cada mesa, como também a prata para as mesas de prata;
17 Clear gold for the meat-hooks and the basins and the cups; for the gold basins, gold enough by weight for every basin; and silver by weight for every silver basin;
17 e ouro puro para os garfos, e para as bacias, e para as escudelas, e para as taças de ouro, para cada taça seu peso, como também para as taças de prata, para cada taça seu peso;
18 And the best gold for the altar of perfumes; and gold for the design of the carriage, for the winged ones whose wings were outstretched covering the ark of the Lord’s agreement.
18 e para o altar do incenso, ouro purificado, por seu peso, como também o ouro para o modelo do carro, a saber, dos querubins, que haviam de estender as asas e cobrir a arca do concerto do SENHOR.
19 All this, said David, the design for all these things, has been made dear to me in writing by the hand of the Lord.
19 Tudo isso, disse Davi, por escrito me deram a entender por mandado do SENHOR, a saber, todas as obras deste risco.
20 And David said to his son Solomon, Be strong and of a good heart and do your work; have no fear and do not be troubled, for the Lord God, my God, is with you; he will not give you up, and his face will not be turned away from you, till all the work necessary for the house of the Lord is complete.
20 E disse Davi a Salomão, seu filho: Esforça-te, e tem bom ânimo, e faze a obra; não temas, nem te apavores, porque o SENHOR Deus, meu Deus, há de ser contigo; não te deixará, nem te desamparará, até que acabes toda a obra do serviço da Casa do SENHOR.
21 And see, there are the divisions of the priests and Levites for all the work of the house of God; and every trained and expert workman will be ready to do for you whatever is needed; and the captains and the people will be under your orders in everything.
21 E eis que aí tens as turmas dos sacerdotes e dos levitas para todo o ministério da Casa de Deus; estão também contigo, para toda obra, voluntários com sabedoria de toda espécie para todo ministério, como também todos os príncipes e todo o povo, para todos os teus mandados.
1 Chronicles 29
1 And David the king said to all the people, Solomon my son, the only one who has been marked out by God, is still young and untested, and the work is great, for this great house is not for man, but for the Lord God.
1 Disse mais o rei Davi a toda a congregação: Salomão, meu filho, o único a quem Deus escolheu, é ainda moço e tenro, e esta obra é grande; porque não é palácio para homem, senão para o SENHOR Deus.
2 Now as far as I am able, I have made ready what is needed for the house of my God; the gold for the things of gold, and the silver for the silver things, and the brass for the brass things, iron for the things of iron, and wood for the things of wood; beryls and jewels to be framed, and stones of different colours for ornament; all sorts of stones of great price, and polished building-stone, as much as is needed and more.
2 Eu, pois, com todas as minhas forças já tenho preparado para a Casa do meu Deus ouro para as obras de ouro, e prata para as de prata, e cobre para as de cobre, e ferro para as de ferro, e madeira para as de madeira, e pedras sardônicas, e as de engaste, e pedras de ornato, e obra de embutido, e toda sorte de pedras preciosas, e pedras marmóreas em abundância.
3 And because this house of God is dear to me, I give my private store of gold and silver to the house of my God, in addition to all I have got ready for the holy house;

4 Even three thousand talents of gold of Ophir and seven thousand talents of the best silver, for plating the walls of the house:
4 três mil talentos de ouro, do ouro de Ofir, e sete mil talentos de prata purificada, para cobrir as paredes das casas;
5 Gold for the gold things, and silver for the silver things, and for every sort of work to be done by the expert workmen. Who then will come forward, offering himself this day for the Lord’s work?
5 e ouro para os objetos de ouro, e prata para os de prata, e para toda obra de mãos artífices. Quem, pois, está disposto a encher a sua mão, para oferecer hoje voluntariamente ao SENHOR?
6 Then the heads of families and the chiefs of the tribes of Israel, and the captains of thousands and of hundreds, with the controllers of the king’s business, freely gave themselves;
6 Então, os chefes dos pais, e os príncipes das tribos de Israel, e os capitães dos milhares e das centenas e até os capitães da obra do rei voluntariamente contribuíram
7 And they gave for the use of the house of the Lord, five thousand talents and ten thousand darics of gold, and ten thousand talents of silver, and eighteen thousand talents of brass, and a hundred thousand talents of iron.
7 e deram para o serviço da Casa de Deus cinco mil talentos de ouro, e dez mil dracmas, e dez mil talentos de prata, e dezoito mil talentos de cobre, e cem mil talentos de ferro.
8 And those who had stones of great price gave them to the store of the house of the Lord, under the care of Jehiel the Gershonite.
8 E os que se acharam com pedras preciosas as deram para o tesouro da Casa do SENHOR, na mão de Jeiel, o gersonita.
9 Then the people were glad because their offerings were freely given, for with a true heart they freely gave what they had to the Lord; and David the king was full of joy.
9 E o povo se alegrou do que deram voluntariamente; porque, com coração perfeito, voluntariamente deram ao SENHOR; e também o rei Davi se alegrou com grande alegria.
10 So David gave praise to the Lord before all the people; and David said, Praise be to you, O Lord the God of Israel, our father for ever and ever.
10 Pelo que Davi louvou ao SENHOR perante os olhos de toda a congregação e disse: Bendito és tu, SENHOR, Deus de nosso pai Israel, de eternidade em eternidade.
11 Yours, O Lord, is the strength and the power and the glory, and the authority and the honour: for everything in heaven and on earth is yours; yours is the kingdom, O Lord, and you are lifted up as head over all.
11 Tua é, SENHOR, a magnificência, e o poder, e a honra, e a vitória, e a majestade; porque teu é tudo quanto há nos céus e na terra; teu é, SENHOR, o reino, e tu te exaltaste sobre todos como chefe.
12 Wealth and honour come from you, and you are ruler over all, and in your hand is power and strength; it is in your power to make great, and to give strength to all.
12 E riquezas e glória vêm de diante de ti, e tu dominas sobre tudo, e na tua mão há força e poder; e na tua mão está o engrandecer e dar força a tudo.
13 So now, our God, we give you praise, honouring the glory of your name.
13 Agora, pois, ó Deus nosso, graças te damos e louvamos o nome da tua glória.
14 But who am I and what is my people, that we have power to give so freely in this way? for all things come from you, and what we have given you is yours.
14 Porque quem sou eu, e quem é o meu povo, que tivéssemos poder para tão voluntariamente dar semelhantes coisas? Porque tudo vem de ti, e da tua mão to damos.
15 For we, as all our fathers were, are like men from a strange country before you, who have got a place for a time in the land; our days on the earth are like a shade, and there is no hope of going on.
15 Porque somos estranhos diante de ti e peregrinos como todos os nossos pais; como a sombra são os nossos dias sobre a terra, e não há outra esperança.
16 O Lord our God, all this store, which we have made ready for the building of a house for your holy name, comes from your hand and is yours.
16 SENHOR, Deus nosso, toda esta abundância que preparamos, para te edificar uma casa ao teu santo nome, vem da tua mão e é toda tua.
17 And I am conscious, my God, that you are the searcher of hearts, taking pleasure in righteousness. As for me, with an upright heart I have freely given all these things; and I have seen with joy your people who are here to make their offerings freely to you.
17 E bem sei eu, Deus meu, que tu provas os corações e que da sinceridade te agradas; eu também, na sinceridade de meu coração, voluntariamente dei todas estas coisas; e agora vi com alegria que o teu povo, que se acha aqui, voluntariamente te deu.
18 O Lord, the God of Abraham, of Isaac, and of Israel, our fathers, keep this for ever in the deepest thoughts of your people, and let their hearts be fixed and true to you;
18 SENHOR, Deus de nossos pais Abraão, Isaque e Israel, conserva isso para sempre no intento dos pensamentos do coração de teu povo; e encaminha o seu coração para ti.
19 And give to Solomon my son a true heart, to keep your orders, your rules, and your laws, and to do all these things, and to put up this great house for which I have made ready.
19 E a Salomão, meu filho, dá um coração perfeito para guardar os teus mandamentos, os teus testemunhos e os teus estatutos; e para fazer tudo, e para edificar este palácio que tenho preparado.
20 And David said to all the people, Now give praise to the Lord your God. And all the people gave praise to the Lord, the God of their fathers, with bent heads worshipping the Lord and the king.
20 Então, disse Davi a toda a congregação: Agora, louvai ao SENHOR, vosso Deus. Então, toda a congregação louvou ao SENHOR, Deus de seus pais; e inclinaram-se e prostraram-se perante o SENHOR e perante o rei.
21 And they made offerings to the Lord, and gave burned offerings to the Lord, on the day after, a thousand oxen, a thousand sheep, and a thousand lambs, with their drink offerings, and a great wealth of offerings for all Israel.
21 E, ao outro dia, sacrificaram ao SENHOR sacrifícios e ofereceram holocaustos ao SENHOR: mil bezerros, mil carneiros, mil cordeiros, com as suas libações, e sacrifícios em abundância por todo o Israel.
22 And with great joy they made a feast before the Lord that day. And they made Solomon, the son of David, king a second time, putting the holy oil on him to make him holy to the Lord as ruler, and on Zadok as priest.
22 E comeram e beberam, naquele dia, perante o SENHOR, com grande gozo; e, segunda vez, fizeram rei a Salomão, filho de Davi, e o ungiram ao SENHOR por guia, e a Zadoque, por sacerdote.
23 So Solomon was put on the seat of the Lord as king in place of his father David, and everything went well for him; and all Israel was under his authority.
23 Assim, Salomão se assentou no trono do SENHOR, rei, em lugar de Davi, seu pai, e prosperou; e todo o Israel lhe deu ouvidos.
24 And all the chiefs and the men of war and all the sons of King David put themselves under the authority of Solomon the king.
24 E todos os príncipes, e os grandes, e até todos os filhos do rei Davi se submeteram ao rei Salomão.
25 And the Lord made Solomon great in the eyes of all Israel, clothing him with glory and honour such as no other king in Israel had had before him.
25 E o SENHOR magnificou a Salomão grandissimamente perante os olhos de todo o Israel; e deu-lhe majestade real, qual antes dele não teve nenhum rei em Israel.
26 Now David, the son of Jesse, was king over all Israel.
26 Ora, Davi, filho de Jessé, reinou sobre todo o Israel.
27 For forty years he was ruling as king over Israel, seven years in Hebron and thirty-three years in Jerusalem.
27 E foram os dias que reinou sobre Israel quarenta anos: em Hebrom reinou sete anos e em Jerusalém reinou trinta e três.
28 And he came to his end after a long life, full of days and great wealth and honour; and Solomon his son became king in his place.
28 E morreu numa boa velhice, cheio de dias, riquezas e glória; e Salomão, seu filho, reinou em seu lugar.
29 Now all the acts of David, first and last, are recorded in the words of Samuel the seer, and the words of Nathan the prophet, and the words of Gad the seer;
29 Os atos, pois, do rei Davi, assim os primeiros como os últimos, eis que estão escritos nas crônicas de Samuel, o vidente, e nas crônicas do profeta Natã, e nas crônicas de Gade, o vidente,
30 Together with all his rule and his power, and the events which took place in his time, in Israel and in all the kingdoms of other lands.
30 juntamente com todo o seu reino, e o seu poder, e os tempos que passaram sobre ele, e sobre Israel, e sobre todos os reinos daquelas terras.
